She wants to get N.Korea talking again, and

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-p … 903026.stm

improve relations with China.

Is this an example of the 'Obama admin bending over to the world', or just sensible foreign policy?

Discuss.

Any progress toward ending North Korea's craziness is a good thing.

After Kim Jong Il kicks the bucket, I think North Korea will slowly normalize its relations with the world.

Closer to China is good, it makes a lot of sense financially to increase trade.

Agreed.  I feel I may have to move there someday and would like to be welcomed and not persecuted.

Sensible trade.  The only problem is that China is very determined to become the more dominant partner in this relationship.  They know that they are going to have to become more of a purchasing nation than they are to become the monetary standard in the world.  This could also be a good thing for our economy.  We were once very good at making stuff.  We can take advantage of their desire to consume what we make and increase our GDP significantly.

until china is adopting our unwanted children, we will remain the dominant partner.

That is a cultural issue and economic.  They are fixing the economic as we speak.  They don't want to outsource their adoptions.

If you want a look at the future watch the old TV show Firefly where they curse in chinese

The Chinese are working on a longer time scale than the US 4 year/ 6 year election cycle. The chinese are going to conquer space and the planets. They have 1 billon+ chinese now. Imagine if they colonize a planet and have room to spread out.

In the mean time the US is looking like the movie "Idiocracy" where we are lookiing for someone to fix our shit for us because we are either too dumb, or too lazy to do it our selves. And that applies to everything from the financial crisis to wearing sweatshop clothes to using Juan the gardner. Our best and brightest are too busy creating millions for themselves through crooked accounting and magic math financial instruments, instead they should be building starships to get us to other planets.

Instead of helping us soar into space, our best and brightest are digging our graves.

You met many chinese people?  Even the peasants are smarter than you and I.  They are a very capable people and will eventually run the show.

what ignorance?  they know how to follow instructions, they know how to maximise efficiency, but they aren't innovators, yet.

Uh...  I think you'll find the average person, regardless of culture or prosperity, isn't particularly bright.

The average Chinese person is neither smarter nor dumber than us.  (And yeah, I've met quite a lot of Chinese immigrants here.)
