In the Detroit 6 county area in Michigan, Housing sales went up an average of about 28 percent and Oakland county rose 48 percent. Yes, about half of the sales were of distressed properties but the sign is that these homes are finally moving and they are moving in one of the worst states to be hit by the housing bubble. Car sales in Michigan went up 1.6 percent.
I find it funny that these kinds of news items were not to be found anywhere on the local news, the national news or any tv outlet that I noticed. Good news would probably breed some confidence but I am hearing nothing except here and there and it is on the radio.
