This whizz of a sniper bullet going past your ear is just epic. I literally shit myself when I hear that and run for cover. Something which most other guys do (and as I'm usually a sniper, I just finish 'em off).TravisC555 wrote:

Ya same as a tank shell landing near you. I have taken a liking to the Engineer and Sniper kits.Zimmer wrote:

The sounds are just as awesome as in BC1, maybe even more improvements. Other games could do with looking at how BC does its sounds. I remember the buzzword that Dice used for its sound engine as "HDR Sound"... you know like, HDR Lighting, except with Sound.
Probably the best sound design in any FPS game, or even any game at all. IMO.
I think it's because unlike most games they use the environment much more to produce sounds, and that's what makes it much more realistic. It's all about the echoes and the reverberations and shit like that. Plus this time around, the way the soldiers shout out things, dropping the F bomb, all of that stuff, the voices in the game seem really well done.
On a side note. I forgot about it, but I have three US codes if anyone wants them. I have no idea if they will work or not, but there's no harm in trying. PM me if you want one.

US codes work in the EU. Confirmed. I used one.
So what's the verdict so far?
From the gameplay vids it looks like a nice combo of realism and arcade.

I know fucking karate
This game looks perfect. I've always wanted a perfect game, every game always lacks something. So far I don't see anything in the gameplay this game could possibly lack.
Oh except for the fact the ejection ports are on the wrong sides... A FUCKING GAIN
I hate when devs do that. FUCK people who do that.
"Oh look at all the cartridges flying in front of my face so I can't see anything, that's sooo kewl!"

Stop being so pedantic. Realism that doesn't effect gameplay, who cares?
Infact, wait..
Ejection ports are only backwards on the XM8 and PKM. On all the other guns I've seen, they're on the right side.-Sh1fty- wrote:

So what if the ejection ports are on the "wrong" side? Maybe you're playing as a left-handed soldier who has specially requested a gun with an ejection port on the other side.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Lefties are amazingly awesome

Actuallt scratch that, the ejection port on the PKM in real life IS on the left side. Don't know about the XM8 though.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

XM8 could be altered specifically to eject from the left I think. All of its controls could be switched to either side for left/right handed users.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

Apart from some bullpups you can use anything left handed, its why most guns have brass deflectors. Although I've never been a fan of left sided ejection ports on guns which never have them there irl, it doesn't bother me that much.
Being able to switch the weapons over to left and right like CS would be a nice feature though, as long as the ejection ports etc stayed on the correct side.
I have a code, but no PS3

So I played the beta a bit. I must say I've not had as much fun on a console, ever. The game is awesome. I just hope they can pull it off on the PC too.
Anyone have a spare key I can have?

Bad Company 2 Singleplayer Detailed
BF-Games has the scoop on the single player portion of Bad Company 2, which is featured January 2010 issue of a German game magazine, GameStar.

Heart of Darkness
According to the preview, the story begins in Alaska, where Haggard, Sweetwater, Sergeant Redford and you (the player) are on a patrol. During that patrol, the B Company discovers a secret research project of the Russian Army and the trouble begins. The intelligence report does not contain further details about the project but it's a new and powerful weapon and the B Company goes on a chase for it.
GameStar chief editor
Michael Trier had the chance two play two missions of this chase: The already known scenario "Snow blind" (Alaska) from the first previews and trailers, and a second one called "Heart of Darkness" which leads the players to Bolivia!
Rumble in the jungle
"Heart of Darkness" is the third scenario beside "Atacama Desert" and "Arika Harbour" that takes place at the South American continent, but this time, players can expect beautiful landscapes instead of bare deserts. The preview contains a couple of pictures from the new map including a panorama view. We are not allowed to show all pictures but scanned one of it to proof that there will be firefights in the jungle. The full story can be found at GameStar 01/2010 which is avaible starting November 25th, 2009. As far as we know, shipping to countries outside of the EU is not generally excluded and the (german) FAQ say that more details about the costs can be requested at the customer service ([email protected]).

Wonder what they did with the gold from the first game. I'm guessing the Legionnaire will make some return as well.
101st again on overall score.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Keep at it War Man, we believe in you!War Man wrote:

Question, on the right hand side of the screen below beta there is an arrow pointing down. What is it for?
