How do you like the Tamron?

I was reading a review comparing the Sigma 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM and the Tamron 18-270MM F/3.5-6.3 Di-II VC PZD. The Review suggested that the Sigma was the better option, but something is telling me getting really good quality out of a lens with that range is to much to hope for. Maybe a couple of lenses to cover that range.

My 75-300 is only about an inch and a half longer than my 18-55. But that one may be less bulky than most. I don't currently use a lens hood though.

The lens is pretty small compared to 70-300

Guess it is, the 18-55 has a fader filter on it, so it's a bit longer than normal.

It was on a special offer so I bought it. Needed a long tube for general outdoor shooting. I got a few nice pics of some kitesurfing at the canary isles last winter. Added 4 pics on flickr that I took with it.

You gotta stay on top of that and be ruthless, otherwise you won't even want to touch it.

heh. It was my first time so I wasnt sure the best settings and was my first time panning. Cars were pretty much constantly going by so I was constantly taking pics. Only time I had to delete was in between races.
some lots were so bad i could delete groups of 50 at a time xD

nice, rthinky

the 28-135 is the kit lens for the 7D. on a crop sensor, it was too long to be a wide angle and not long enough to be a telephoto. i haven't tried it FF yet, it may redeem itself.

the 18-200 is a great walk-around lens. it's what my wife uses on vacation. it's soft on both ends, but overall has done well.

the lens i'll miss the most is the 17-85. i may keep it on the 7D . . .
