I know for example: LOL = Laughing Out Loud. but there is a much longer version of that...
And i think that 1337 is Leet when you just use numbers instead of letters, or when you are an elite (good player).

So write down every word you know and say what they mean. In this consistency of games an such.

LOL= laugh out loud; usually used when no other response can come to mind
ROFL= Rolling on the floor laughing; Same as "LOL" But used when something is usually really funny
LMAO= Laughing my ass off; normally the person who is saying this really isnt, but they do think it is funny
ROFLMAO= combination of ROFL and LMAO; used for something really funny

Wtf= What the fuck; said by a person when he/she is taken by suprise
OMGWTF=Oh my god what the fuck; said by a person who is REALLY taken by suprise, if said on a game, chances are in the next 5 seconds he/she will accuse someone of cheating

STFU= shut the fuck up; im sure you can use your intellect to when this would be used, the average online game player sees "STFU" in game chat about 509032940238402348204820348203498203420 to the power of 100.3 times a day
GTFO= Get the fuck out; Rarely used, ive never seen another person use it, but i guess someone who did know it would type it out to a cheater on a game server

lesson 4, Random words
OWNED=to dominate someone, beat them; used by everyone pretty much at one point, but only 1% of saying "owned" was at a good time to say it

Its not l33+(elite) or anything, it makes you look stupid and like a 12 year old, ow right for the ppl that dont know yet i m 27. Stop using shit like that cause there's like only 3 guys here that understand what you re talking about.

Gees these are international gaming forums, i sure as hell wont bother trying to read your hax0r l33t sp3ak !11!1 For the ppl using 1337, l33+ speak, grow up and learn to use language in a proper way.

Now that we are talking about "elite", i passed the dutch army training for the 11th Airmobile Brigade (dutch red berrets). There's about 90-100 guys every year that make it though basic training. I was one of the few lucky ones, that made it though the tests and 6 months training without injury. About 1/10 of the guys selected make it through training and all my drill instructors were ex corps commando's or ex marine corps. After that i served my country for 2 years as a scout/medic. Btw there's about 350 scouts in the dutch army all together.

then of course there are word exceptions:

'the' is NOT spelt '7|-|3'.
it is commonly more accepted as 't3h' or 'teh', originating from the common typograph.

'you' is accepted as 'j00', coming from the eastern european 'j' as a 'y' (egs: 'ja') and thus, 'j00' and 'j00r'.

a 'n00b', 'nub', 'noob', 'n00bo' or other variation is a derogatory term for newbies who just plain suck and don't get better over time.
