New Belgium makes some solid beers. Having been to Belgium many years ago I can honestly say Belgian beer is the best.

I hate expensive advertised beer..... its always overrated.

Its not what the topic specified, but in Austria (at least in Vienna) we have 2 popular domestic bears - Ottakringer and Schwechater - that are in my opinion as good as any other beer. They are about 50-60 cents (€) per 1/2 litre in a store and about 2-3 € per 1/2 litre in a pub.

Anyone who pays more than that for some fancy advertised beer (specially when its 4-5 times more expensive) is stupid in my opinion (unless they are trying to get laid).

New Belgium's Trippel has been stocked in my fridge since I first had it about 6 months ago...it's possibly my favorite reasonably-priced beer. I give it a 8/10.

When I want to celebrate, or just want a change, I go for Boulevard's Smokestack Series - specifically, "Sixth Glass" and "Long Strange Tripel":

These are about 8 bucks a bottle, but I love the flavor(s) and 25oz. of 10% alc. beer will make you feel pretty good unless you're well on your way to cirrhosis of the liver...well worth the money, imo. I'd give both of these 9/10.
