The axe is pretty cool - especially in combat against another axe wielding opponent.

Your head moves with the swing and if you miss you literally feel off balance.

2008 was the year of fire. Makes sense that 2009 would be the year of water.

For me, the future of physics lies in interactive procedural animation. The day they can make a game like Die by the Sword as cool as when it first came out will be the day that I'm in gamer heaven for months. For now, I have a 9800GT set aside for the task.

That game was incredible. I got it on a magazine cover and played it for ages.

This was the first game that made me sympathetic towards kobolds.

This.

The fps are a little slow, but I've maxed out the gfx on an 8800gt and am using 1440 x 900 resolution. Lower settings and it then improves.

The combat system is phenomenal
I've only had a few battles but already it's clear that from now on THIS is the system fps games will use in hand to hand combat. It's great.

The plot is a little bit thin so far, but it adds to the immersion value. The flashbacks are developing the story, but you are also altering it with your choices when you change the past actions of deceased crew members (it's complicated but works).

So far it's been better than farcry2 and is on par with fallout 3 in terms of enjoyment.

I'm going back to play it.
Epic. I have yet to try it because I have had no time, but I will do this weekend. Hopefully. Already got it installed.

The disc is in my hot little hands. Time to fire up Windows 98.

I envy you. Those were some good days for gaming.

It started really well, was unique and drew you in, and I really liked the early combat with fist fights and swinging the axe in particular was great. But about the stage I reached the reactor room, had the sniper rifle I found how everything seemed repetitive and the guns were terrible. I hated using them, it didn't feel like a smooth fps and would also lag during battles with 2 or 3 enemies.

Started well but got boring unfortunately.
