Just thought that you'd be interested in what I have ritten down in my psychology A level notes regarding this.

"Baker and bellis (1995) suggest that the female orgasm may have evolved to cause vaginal and uterine contractions to suck sperm into the uterus. This would thereby increase the likelihood of fertilisation by males who are sexually exciting and thus higher quality"

My notes also tell me that chimpanzee's have a 3" penis and that one hypothesis for human penis length is that the large length of the human penis compared to other animals may have been to frighten away other males...


Being one of three males in a psychology class with 13 females when the teacher is also female makes this a very weird topic to do.

EDIT: If your interested you may be find the research of Buss 1999 interesting as it shows what males and females typically desire in a potential mate.

Anyway if you want any more on this (Darwins theory of sexual selection) then just PM me as I just wrote a short essay on it as practice for my exam on wednesday, fucking psychology A2 exam requires me to learn 13 essay and 3 of them will come up.....
