The staff hereby announces we are planning an academy award like contest to hail those members making a lasting impression on us and the other members during 2008 ...

Therefor we are looking for what categories we should include, we already have some ideas but would like to ask you guys for input ... not sure yet about the final process but maybe something like this:

*We decide on what categories to be implemented
*In each category the members will nominate their favorites
*A poll will decide who gets to the final and a Mod jury will decide the winner amongst those 5 that got the most votes
*Mods can not participate in the event aka not win a category

List of suggested categories so far
1 DAST section member of the year
2 EE section member of the year
3 TECH section member of the year
4 GAMES section member of the year
5 Best thread 2008
6 Best newcomer 2008
7 Funniest thread of the year
8 Funniest member of the year
9 Most missed member of the year
10 Most helpful person of the year
11 Most bat-shit crazy DAST poster of the year (may need to be reformulated)
12 Most likely to be the next Mod
13 Spammer of the Year 2008/Most likely to be banned in 2009
14 Marmite award
15 Best quarrel 2008 (two nominees)
16 Member of the year 2008 (best overall poster in more than one section)

---- Will prolly end up using 10 of the categories listed ---- If all goes as planned we can start nominating members on Saturday ----

So lets here your thoughts about what categories you would like to see and/or other suggestions ...
