Because hanging back and taking body shots at people we've already been shooting at requires skill and actually helps us. Not ONCE in a fire fight have I seen a sniper take out an enemy that was 'just' about to kill me.

These same snipers sit in the middle of no where and take random pot shots at you, of which I'm going to be instantly revived from. Very few snipers actually help the team in any way.
When i used to play BF2 there was plenty of times i took out spec ops c4ing armour, or lining onto a flag
