I need to get on that. There's one right near me a few towns over I used to go to all the time.DesertFox- wrote:
Went to the going-out-of-business sale at my local Borders. Picked up a book with several Wilde plays, Dubliners, and Killing Pablo. That should keep me occupied throughout the fall semester.
Wait a bit more. It was only 10% off yesterday. I still got the books I was looking for. Several Civil War books, A dorsey novel, Various Shipwreck books and some cookbooks. Christmas in July... Done for the year.DesertFox- wrote:
Mine was crowded as balls, and nearly everything good was only 10% off whereas Religion and Manga shit was like 40%. Gonna wait and go back in maybe a week to see when they lower prices some more, and hopefully will still have some good stuff. It was funny, though. The Orwell books were all picked over and so was Rand. I hope people are stupid enough to leave some gems still on the shelves.
Yes they do. The movie was left more open for interpretation.AussieReaper wrote:
I'm also reading 2001 Space Oddysey, it's good but the movie has so far been the better. The later chapters should make more sense of the movie though. lol
I went to my going-out-of-business Borders awhile back in Tacoma. Saw better deals on Amazon.DesertFox- wrote:

Assuming he had been victorious at every turn under the conditions you provided, we'd still have to guess if the government that succeeded his death would have been capable of maintaining control.Macbeth wrote:
I know, I've read about the wars in Spain and with the Hasburgs and Prussians. But it's a simple way of pointing out he was dominant in Europe before he went into Russia.
Makes sense huh? That's why they're shutting them down..lol. I can't remember the last time I bought a book in an actual book store. For myself at least.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

It was a pretty bitter experience. Going out of business, and they still didn't get it. The Tacoma Borders started off fairly enough, but the staff grew increasingly hostile towards people who would browse through books where they stood or sat. I experienced the same paranoid atmosphere in the latter days of Circuit City retail, always being shadowed (or watching others be) by suspicious floor guys while I was digging through music or games.Kmar wrote:

oh, I'll browse. But when they're marked up 30% or more to cover their brick and mortar cost I can't justify spending my dough there.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
Buy the hardcover classics from Barnes & Noble instead, if you have one nearby and you want to browse an actual bookstore.
