Done all that.justice wrote:
Try manually installing and updating PB, I've heard this has been a problem.
Also try turning texture detail to low in options.
Try right clicking bf2 icon > properties > compatability > run in compatability mode for xp (sp2)

Just reinstalled bf2 to with all expansions. I have set punkbuster to scan every 500 seconds and when it does scan, my game completely freezes and there is nothing I can do except kill it in task manager.
tried clearing cache, updating punkbuster, updating video card, nothing has worked!!
Help?

Maybe your image is broken? eh, nope... stupid but hey, we are doing brainstorming right? Enlarge your virtual memory which Windows can use?
I had this problem the first time i ran bf2 on my new PC.
-Run bf2, login then alt-tab to desktop
-open task manager, processes tab, find bf2
-right click on bf2, set affinity
-this should open a new window with a shitload of little boxes, and cpu1 cpu2 cpu3 and cpu4 will all be ticked, untick them all except cpu1, apply.
-restart bf2, good to go....hopefully
Assuming this is your problem, it should work. Only problem is you have to do it before most games, as it never stays that way

I've tried 2 different images, same thing each time.legionair wrote:

I've tried 800X600 all low settings with AA on and all high at the maximum res you can set in game, whatever that is.Pea....Tear.....Griffen wrote:

Everything else is fine, never had this kind of problem with any other game before.Pea....Tear.....Griffen wrote:

Have you tried turning your sound off to see if it's a sound card/onboard sound problem? (disable it in device manager temporarily then run BF2)
