How many of you guys smoke?
What is your opinion about it?
Are there any laws in your country that limits smoking in any way?

Me myself do smoke but not that severly.
I finish off one pack in about 4-5 days(20 sticks in one pack).I smoke a bit more when the exams are coming...
Limits:
Only people above the age of 18 can BUY cigarette but anyone can smoke(how stupid is this...)
In gymnasium and elementary school it is prohibited for students to smoke in the area of the school(it is a good thing)
At university you can smoke at only certain places.
Same goes for any institution and workplace.
The price of smoke is not bad(actually really cheap compared to the western european countries)one pack costs about 2 euros.

I don't smoke, but here they recently passed some laws that limit smokers a lot. It prohibits anyone from smoking in public areas, and you can't even smoke in bars anymore. A lot of people are mad about that.

I used to smoke about a pack a day. A couple of years ago I mostly quit; after that I only smoked when I was drinking. My New Years Resolution was to quit completely. So far so good...
You have to be 18 to smoke in the US. Also, like Homeschtar said, they severly limit where you can smoke in a lot of states/cities.

I live in America and where im at you have to be 19 to buy and smoke cigarettes. I don't smoke and and have never even tried it either. As the person above me said, I never really understood why anyone would want to start smoking. You don't look cool, its really bad for you, it makes you smell bad, ect.

The college I go to it seems you can smoke just about anywhere but indoors. And as mentioned before smoking has been banned just about anywhere else you can think of except your own home. I like the new bans because I really can't stand the smell of cigarettes.

I live in Canada now and those things are expensive like $9 canadian.

And the funniest thing is: Canada is the closest country to the US, it is prettty much a part of US, it has free trade agreement with the US, but you cant buy Marlboro here, or any american cigaretes except for Camel and Winston. U can buy Marlboro in any part of the world but here. I like marlboro, but since its a free country with a free choice I had to choose from whats available, which is one brand only lol.

US Military is cracking down on smoking alot, for example, sever punishment if you are caught smoking at Lackland AFB, (San Antonio Texas) They are trying to ban smoking all over the AF, but too many people are dependent. Me I only smoke at work. And the wife dont know either...lol

I understand those who dont smoke want to ban smoking from almost everywhere.If there is someone with me, I always ask if he minds, and if he says no, then I won't.
But you should consider those who smoke.
If you could smoke only at home, it won't be good.It would almost be something like racism.
It is okay ,that you can only smoke at certain places.Those who dont do it, wont go there and wont be disturbed by it.
Think about it: drinking alcohol is also bad for your health and it is also addictive.It also makes you smell bad.
Sometimes it makes you vomit.But there is no such big deal about it...

I only smoke the best: Cuban Cigars! Monte Crisco's are quite nice...and since the Cuban Missle Crisis all Cuban imports are banned, but they find their way here through mexico. I got mine when i went down to Cuidad Acuna.

As for the laws, you can't smoke in public buildings (exept bars) and the like. At college, you gotta go outside. 18 to buy and posess.

Other than Cubans, i don't smoke. I dip snuff.

The smoking bans are really controversial. On one hand, the smokers should have the freedom to smoke where they want. Banning them from doing so seems like it might be infringing on their rights. On the other hand, it is kind of infringing on non-smoker's rights to have smoking be legal every where, because it is damaging to health. So the choice is this: either damage non-smoker's health, have them complain, or restrict smoking to very few places, have the smokers complain.

Smoking is banned in bars and most public places here in California, quite thankfully. I'm not a smoker, and I find it extremely rude when people start smoking upwind from me, or just walk right on up under a bus stop and just light up without asking if it was alright to do so (it was raining extremely heavily one day, and I was caught without an umbrella nor a raincoat, so I was waiting under the covered bus stop. Two assholes just walk on into it and both light up, so I get out of the bus stop and wait in the rain while suffering a coughing fit.)

I wish they'd ban it even farther, since it would allow me to breathe easier when just walking around the city.

I have nothing against people smoking. My problem with smoking is that I have to breath/smell it. People usually smoke near doorways so any time I try and go somewhere I have to either hold my breath or deal with it. Then you have to consider wind direction too. My wife and I were eating lunch the other day at some picnic tables. A couple sat down a few tables down from us and the man started smoking. We ended up leaving because of the smell.

I'm an on and off smoker. Thankfully off em right now. Over here in England you can smoke in bars and restaurants but thats changing. Still going to take 2 years to push thru the new rules tho! I'm all for peoples rights to smoke but you can't endanger others people's heath to do it. Let people smoke outside or in their own homes.

It's the equivelant of me walking into a bar with my pockets full of radioactive waste!

I smoke 5 per day, around 10 during exam times.
Im from ireland and we have smoking ban too,
I think its a good thing, as non-smokers shut up complaining and i dont mind stretching my legs and leaving the pub for a smoke.
