sure im not raking leaves... but im working for my money and if u think all teenages are lazy and stupid you should realise who is serving u everytime u go into a store.... u may notice that quite often it is one of those horrible teenagers.

Us kids grew up on teachers that emphasized "this is how much you need to do just to pass" and a ton of them decided to apply "just enough" to every aspect of their life. The media does not do much better either. Kids were better off before the days of TV and the "free to be me" hippie liberals.

I have been working 12 hours a day sat. and sun. with 1 hour breaks since I was 12 plus on summers and christmas/spring break i would work for most of vacation days...And I still keep a good average at school+ social life w/o the idiot freinds(ok, maybe i have some but i rather have freinds then look like a looser, kekeke).

Don't get so defensive, I applaud your work ethic. However, if what was posted does not apply to you then why be upset? Unless you think there is absolutely no truth to what is posted, which I doubt, because even though I admit I do not know every teenager in the world, I will assume you do not either.

I am referring to those who are not able to work yet. 12, 13, 14 year olds can't usually get jobs so what do they do that is productive with their spare time?  Obviously an older ten who works part time and goes to school does not have extra time but there is absolutely no reason why an able bodied 14 year old cannot shovel a driveway for some extra cash. The point is to learn how to earn. Sitting at home on a snow day with your finger up your ass when you can go out and make money for a days work is no way to live. I cannot be convinced that holding out your hand is acceptable and quite honestly young men and women who have poor work ethics early in life usually don't succeed as adults. I went to school once, I know what it is like to be a teenager. The little assholes that went to school with me who sat around with no drive are now fat, lazy, low paid apartment dwelling disasters and they blame everyone else around them when they should be looking in the mirror. If you are over the age of 12 and you do not desire to earn something for yourself than you have a problem. I don't give a shit who serves me at the register. I don't give a shit how old they are. The fact remains that kids in todays generation are far more lazy than generations past.

Oh, come on. Me (and my friends) have been doing all that crap for our families and our grandmas since we were 10. I don't go out and do it for cash, because my parents gave me an allowance and told me to go do it for free.

Tbh, the poll is probably just more honest than previous ones. I would answer honestly, and it would be in the affirmative for all 3 of those offenses. You were a teen once, and I bet you did it too. It shouldn't be a shocker.

Plus, if you're so worried about how we're going to turn out, how about you poll your parents generation and ask them how many of them were spitting on "niggers" when segregation ended in school? And it seems like they turned out OK.

Well I am 30. My father is 50 and my mother is 49 which puts them in school during the late 70's and in college in the early 80's. Tell me again when segregation ended or is this just a case of you not taking the time to ask before you generalize?

My parents arent like 80 years old, and I am not in my 50's or 60's.

My kids don't, well actually I caught my 7 year old cheating at a game of battleship when I got up to use the bathroom.  I told him I don't play with cheaters and to put away the game.

It was kind of mean and I felt bad when he came to me all teary eyed appologizing and I gave him the " what you do when nobody is watching determines what kind of a person you are " speech.

Last night I walked in on a conversation in which my 7 year old was asking my 12 year old to get him "reefer".  I think he ment to say "reaper" and it is probably a Baukegon or something ( I hope ).  but just maybe he wants to get stoned for X-Mass this year, we do have the first half black, half muslim, half white, half christian, half American, half Kenyan, American President who is bringing change for us.  Perhaps this is it???

I worked my entire high school years @$1.00/hr out of necessity;  parents provided shelter, food and clothes.  Anything else was my responsibility when after I reached age 13.

Yes, there are a fairly large number of stupid teens.

I think the ones that piss me off the most are the Die Hard Liberals(like the ones in my government class) and just the kids that are plain stupid.
