i’ve had the same style and dressed in the same brands since i was about 22.

what exactly is faddish or temporary about an insulated winter coat or a nice suit? and if a suit lasts half a decade or a decade before coming to seem hopelessly dated — well, that’s a pretty good lifespan for any garment, isn’t it?

i’m sure you’re still wearing the polyester and nylon shell suits you were wearing in the 1980s, being impervious to the cycles of fashion and immune to changes in style.

There's also the Hyundai Ioniq.

The Camry and RAV4 hybrids would be more useful for me.

I love in a state with cold winters. Do electric car batteries go bad in cold weather?

If you're serious, those are terrible for bird watching. You want 8x. Most bird watching binocs are 8x42

When I said bird watching I meant watching the birds at the park.

Will the binoculars be any use when the apocalypse starts?

Also,

A $26 stocking stuffer is suboptimal for birdwatching?

Spoiler (highlight to read):
You don't say?

srs talk, mac, you spent $2000 on a video card. At the very least, you could pick up something like a $130 Nikon.

If you get modestly into it, I suppose consider a tripod and some maybe more expensive sub-$500 digitals.

If you decide you want to put bird feeders up, keep them clean and exp. pay attention to notices about bird viruses going around.

I am not sure if I even like bird watching yet. Let me try it first.

The Nikon will let you keep an eye out for the soldier you cucked.

When I was looking (I think I made a mention of it in this thread!), I found they can get expensive real quick. I settled on a pair of Nikons. I can't remember the exact model but they were under $150. Haven't used them much! Haha. I should get back on that train

Hummingbirds are amazing to watch and a ton of them have been hanging out for the past few years. I keep the tripod and binocs by the window, but no need as they fly right up with no fear. Maybe I should get into high-speed photography.

For you, mac, since I know you're into a lot of the woodcraft nerd stuff:

Wow, that is some amazing stuff. Also copyright infringement.

If I was budgeting for a game space I'd probably pick one up for the shelf.

re: copyright, kinda sorta, lots of it falls to the company to decide what they'll let slide. I don't think Nintendo is selling woodcrafts of old game cartridges.

I've heard a lot of this stuff talked (and rambled) about at convention panels in the past couple years of online cons.

https://carterlawaz.com/fan-art-or-copy … ringement/ puts it the way I hear it a lot: "Fan fiction and fan art falls squarely into the murky realm of copyright and fair use."

I am pretty sure Etsy will acknowledge any takedown request by copyright holders. Many IP holders are probably well aware by now that trying to take down small Etsy shops is detrimental to their brand. Doubly so since someone buying Etsy stuff will also buy fully licensed material too.

All of those boxes with the Magic the Gathering icons and stuff were technically copyright infringement but I filled them with thousands of dollars worth of cards.

Well like the link says (and I've heard it echoed): it's a defense, not a permission slip.

That said, etsy and other sites like it are up to their ears in commissioned and bulk fan art. Do you have the slightest notion of how many unauthorized crochet Pokémons you can buy online?

from kotaku

Generally, Nintendo doesn’t do anything about fan art, fan remixes of music, or other such projects. But for whatever reason, it draws a hard line at fan games.

Also, that "whatever reason" isn't hard to puzzle out. Nintendo makes video games.

you chose the nicest colourway.

what’s with the beetle on the wrist strap? is it an allusion to how many dung balls you had to roll to afford it?

It's the stag beetle, which is the name of the company providing the leather strap. Cervi Volanti is the Italian name for a stag beetle. They repurpose deer hides that would otherwise be thrown away after Switzerland's yearly deer cull.
