Its not easy but I could go out and spend $5k on a lathe and a mill and I could make all the guns I wanted. $10-20k for CNC machines and I could surf youtube while the machines knocked them out. With the parts I have in my shed I could probably do it now.

Rifled barrels, primers and gunpowder are the tricky parts, and the right grades of steel aren't super easy to obtain in small quantities for an amateur.
With a bit of chemistry research and a spark eroder I guess I could do all that, but good luck getting hold of the precursor ingredients if the govt controls them - which they do.

You can make a workable shotgun from gas pipe and hand tools if you want to - according to Che Guevara.

I'm part way through machining and fitting a new barrel at work - rifled blanks can be bought without a licence, there's a local manufacturer who sells metre lengths, and I can legally make my own parts, but not a complete firearm.

Excellent post. Thank you for your contribution. You have a lifetime of experience and tools, right? Do you agree that "people would make guns at home" is exaggerated then? You also mention producing gunpowder is difficult. I have heard the basics of it a long time ago and it doesn't seem like something that is easy to do. You can buy black powder in gun stores in the U.S. already. Do you think stronger regulation on the sale of bullets and black powder could be a good gun control workaround?

Interestingly, the Boston Marathon bombers used firework powder for their bombs. They sourced it from bulk fireworks they bought from stores.

The average person could probably knock out a single-shot gun in a few days with garage tools.

Making an automatic firearm is harder, but Mac-10s can be made by amateurs.

Making blackpowder is apparently not hard, but modern firearms use smokeless powder - very not simple to make at home.

People aren't stupid and I expect there is enough ammunition, primers and gunpowder stockpiled in hermetic containers in people's homes in the US to last several centuries.
Each time the democrats are elected the rest of the world suffers shortages of these materials.

You can't buy this stuff now, not off the shelf anyway, a year or two ago I spent forever scouring the web for one to build another machine and eventually had to design my own.

Do you have the capability and tools to produce firearms? I don't mean zip guns. I could make one of those. But I mean like a genuine semiautomatic pistol or rifle? American second amendment people always say "people will just make guns at home", so stupid. We both know that that isn't as easy as they say or think.
All you need is a lathe and a milling machine. Most people do not possess machinist skills though.

My collection of small MTG boxes. I took a picture of them together for a ln Etsy review after the artist left me a thank you note for all of the support.

The symbols are engraved into the boxes.

I ordered a headrest for my chair from the US

Here's a 7 minute video of a Korean man using the headrest without talking:

It's actually two different Etsy shops.

The small boxes hold 60 card decks. The big boxes hold 1-2 100 card decks. Each deck color represents a different type of deck inside of it. The black boxes hold black decks. The red box holds red. The black and white boxes hold a black and white deck each. And the blue and black decks hold blue and black decks. How do I keep track of all of it? I have licensed desktop software.

Would you like a run down of what each box holds?

herman miller is designer corporate shit. it’s priced for corporate accounts in the same way certain software is only ever aimed at corporates. normal plebs can pick up a plentiful supply of office furniture in ebay or gumtree job lots. every fucking trendy start-up company with their first tranche of venture funding has to have 20 or 200 herman miller chairs in their office, of course. they go bust or run out of funding 2 years later and the chairs go on ebay for 1/3rd the price.

they are very very much worth it at that point. people spend as much on those gross and shit ‘gamer chairs’ that look adapted from a rally car.

When we started a joint venture with another company a few years ago, the first order of business was to order a bunch of Herman Miller chairs. I still use mine but I took off the headrest!
