the recent WD portables havent been received well, that is unless they came out with a new line in the past month or so.
i always get the full desktop ones for storing media and then have 1 portable one of the older WD portable line that i use for bringing stuff places. i wouldnt recommend using a portable one for long term storage though, its quite a bit worse than the other ones - ive had to reformat it for various problems a few times now
