Not in GTA's case. Though I doubt GTA IV on the PC reaches the 98 that the 360/PS3 versions have.Miggle wrote:

To be fair to Rockstar, they don't for GTA games in general but Bully suffers from indefinite crashes, never ending loading loops and poor performance even on some high end machines.DoctaStrangelove wrote:
This month's PC Gamer said that R* didn't cut corners on the port (as they never do)
Only one activation and unlimited installs across unlimited machines. That's less DRM than steam has.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

Rockstar have imposed a different sort of DRM, it has UNLIMITED INSTALLS
Rockstar should be praised for not crossing the line with the anti piracy measures
not another anti-DRM nazi, look, read the interview on IGNHurricane2k9 wrote:

Meh, doesn't seem like it will be a problem for anyone, but DRM is useless in general.rammunition wrote:

Also R* did mention that they will provide additional content to people who bought legit copies of the games, IMO that's the only way to deter piracy. Look at Valve games, they are very well supported and so few people pirate them.

Gabe Newell knows what's up.
Damn right, you big hunk o' meat.As far as DRM goes, most DRM strategies are just dumb. The goal should be to create greater value for customers through service value [...] not by decreasing the value of a product. We really really discourage other developers and publishes from using the broken DRM offerings, and in general there is a groundswell to abandon those approaches.
Of course he'll say that, always point out the flaws in the competition.Poseidon wrote:

But yeah, I love him, I would marry him if he'd lose a little weight.
Yes, but the fact that Valve games generally dont have DRM means it isnt just fluff. Although Steam could be regarded as the biggest DRM of all.Miggle wrote:

Stronger than securom and less invasive, not to mention it's actually useful.

That and GTA has traditionally had a time lapse between release on console and PC, which can lead to a lower graphics score (for reviewers that give out separate scores), especially when its considered that the PC is generally taken to the utting edge for graphics.
I wouldn't listen to a review that makes a big deal out of year-old graphics. If anything, that only makes it more accessible.SharkyMcshark wrote:

Which luckily GTA IV has and will be expanded upon through mods.jsnipy wrote:

After seeing what the community did with San Andreas and Vice City, I can't wait to see what they do with GTA IV. Especially with the new engine and everything.
Very true. GTA4 is little lacking (compared to other GTA titles) in its vanilla form.Poseidon wrote:

Indeed. Though when I play it I seem to always find something new to do.jsnipy wrote:

Smashing up my car, getting it burning, going full speed in Star Junction, jumping out and watching it take out a line of cars in a fiery explosion = win
Putting one of Packie's bombs on a car, driving it into Perseus, walking out and detonating it = win
Putting one of Packie's bombs on a car, driving it into a busy gas station, walking away and detonating it = win
Oh, and of course the Swingset glitch. Always entertaining.
