Pump action shotgun owns. Learn how to use it.

The only fix about engineer is the repairing points only.

Hey paratrooper, I'm not a military man, and I know diddly squat about the armed forces, (I was a member of the ATC, that's Air Training Core, when I was thirteen, with the high rank of cadet. It sucked dick. all we did was parade.) Can you answer me this one thing though.
Don't you get a 'weapon of choice'? I know this Vietnam vet who had that option, (he took a shotgun for close combat jungle fighting.) Do you get anything like that, even a small array of weapons to choose from each class?
talking to me?
i was a reconnaissance...

but anyway... no - 95% of military personal dont get a weapon of choice...
special units can choose - but believe me the last units that can choose a weapon are engineers...

btw its also not allowed ( different to ww2) to use enemy weapons...

Heh, that made me wonder:

So if you run out of ammo during a battle and you pick up an enemy weapon to try staying alive and someone sees you, you could be court martialled(sp?) afterwards?

So what should you use then? Harsh language?

you can use the enemy's weapon if it is the only thing availible

I see, so you can use them, but not *keep* them as a regular weapon like some soldiers did during WW2, is that it?

correct
you can keep some war trophies, but they are limited by the unit commander (no weapons)

bin zwar auch deutsch... aber egal^^

the point is
firing with an enemy weapon ... mh...  very clever...
htere are some combat rules (dont know the english word) that say time limits to different things...
one says: after a combat time of 20 minutes a standard soldier can hear exactly the differnt sounds of the weapon fire...  so for example u shoot with an ak...  as american...  and there are different squads around...

now THE POINT:
and i walk around and see&hear an ak firing (maybe out a window)... u can be pretty sure - that i wont ask you which side you are on before firing..!!!!

i'll bet the Topic creator hasnt got the Mk3 shotty yet, coz thats no shotgun it,s a god damn dangerous gun when u are standing in front of it

i think the Teamworks points gaining by Engin are unfair compared versus the Medic and Support....u just drop packages and u got urself a point if someone walks over it and that happens all the time. u earn easy 20 - 40 teamwork points if ur a Support

i think if u get a repair point in this situation u should get 5 teamwork points , coz many times u have to fix the whole damn friendly tank before u gain a point. or an asset . or EA/DICE put in the next patch a new point system of the Engin in it : i think it would be fair enough to get a repair point

Vehicule / Asset  Full health 4/4
Engin repairs and get 1 repair point (1 teamwork point) per 1/4 part repaired (so 25% of the full health)

coz comon 7 out of the 10 times u repair a Tank u get blow away or drived over by ur stupid teammate.
give the Engin a Fair balance versus the Medic and Support.
your damn right about the jackhammer, and i find it sad more ppl dont use it, great gun.

and i fully agreee on your 25% repair thing, but then again, someone shoots up a buggy, you repair in 2 seconds and make ~3 - 4 points? i think that seems a tad dummyed up, it should be more like 25% on a tank, 50%on an APC 85-90% on a jeep, and 150-175% on a buy.

Maybe not the best gun in the world, but good enough to kill the nasty spec ops.
You have to get unlock for it.

Repair pts are a pain the ass to come by.  Best I have in one round is 9.  I've gotten 20 heals and resupplies in others.

The shotguns suck.  No range and not enough ammo.  I usually get killed trying to kill the guy who blew up my UAV, cause I'm having to use a shot gun to his G36 or SCAR-L.

It's going to be. One of the only good things happening in 1.2 is an extra 10 rounds and a bit more accuracy.
Yay for EA making an SMG that isn't awful. pp-19 {yechkk!}

I was In the Infantry 8yrs 1ST Armored Div Germany/194 Inf Brigade Ft.Knox and NO you dont get your weapon of choice unless your dealing with SF i.e seals,SF,Force recon and such.Your normal units issue weapons assigned to your position in your squad.Airborne and Ranger units i think are the same, but i guess it depends on the mission.

Yeah the only thing that really needs fixing with engineers is the repair points (something to cut back on the mine TK punishing would be nice to I guess). I think the the repair points should be awarded in the same way as before but they should each count for 5 teamwork points. Right now patching up every commander asset will give you four points and will take about two minutes, how long does it take to get four points as a support or medic? With 1.2 taking away the ability for tanks to knock out mines engineers should also get a repair point for defusing an enemy mine.

enginers are the bomb but i suck at them but their still the bomb i like going up and shot em in the head as he turns around lol i think i only got like 3 kills with the shotgun, and not trying to change the game but in real life shotguns have a good enough pattern at 40 yards. turkey hunting i got my first one at 30 yards.  i know if i want a real game play (AA) but the should update that in the next patch maybe

Words as hell.
Topic starter STFU if you want to go to the army do that for yourself not to be cocky.
Well??? What did I say???
If you go to the army do that to your fucking self don't be cocky about this because it doesn't make no impression neither to me or the fellow posters.

You all say it, but don't realize it:

REAL LIFE <> BATTLEFIELD 2 (GAME)

a game is not a represantation of real life:
examples:
Medics don't run around with shock paddles or magical healing bags in real life
Support troops don't have magical "one caliber fits all" resupply bags in real life
Engineers don't have a magical wrench to tighten one bolt and magically repairing an entire vehicle in real life
If you are shot in your leg, chances are you won't be sprinting as far as before anymore
In real life people don't react to bullets as well as they do in BF2

(OR: the US military has some sort of secret new technology we are not supposed to know)
