Because he overtook about 4 cars on fresh tyres whilst they were running on tyres that practically had to last the entire grand prix. Yeah.
He was running in front of them anyway, the only reason he ended up behind was because he punctured his tyre and had to do a second pit stop. The guy is a good driver, no doubt. However I don't subscribe to the notion that he's on the same level as Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel. He hasn't done what they have done yet, for whatever reason. So he can't be put there. There's no use making assumptions in cases like this until he can get the chance.
Also that Renault car is being developed at a serious pace. These people are no slouches, they've won the WDC and WCC two years in a row. Something people tend to forget when they hype up how amazing it is that Renault are doing good.
He hasn't got the car that Alonso, Hamilton or Vettel have.
He doesn't have 6 times the points of his team mate cause he's slow. He's also finished in the points more times then Hamiton and Vettel and hasn't qualified worse then 9th, something you can't say about Alonso or Hamilton. If the guy gets a drive in a top team in the next couple of years I wouldn't be betting against him winning the world championship.
