Will the left be upset and turn on him...?  Will the right come to like him...?
and overall... will he be an incredible President that strengthens the US ?
I realize this is all speculation... for now i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt... he is a smart guy... will he do the right things(no pun intended lol)?

Barack is pretty much IN the centre, its just the Republicans have progressively moved so far to the right they don't know where the centre is.

If he moves to the center, it would only be to take away more support for the Republicans. The left vote isn't going to go anywhere, they aren't likely to vote Republican because it's even further right.

You'll most likely see the GOP move slightly more towards center, unless of course Palin is still on the ticket. lol

Okay, that is a laugh.  Actually, to be fair, I suppose it is fair to say that both parties have become more polarized, but the left is having to cater more and more to its fringe elements; moveon.org and other similar websites are proving too valuable as contributors to ignore, and these sites draw the more fringe lefties.

I would like to see that, but in our political climate I don't know that it would do much good.  Both parties have become so polarized at the far left/right, and terms like moderate and compromise have become four letter words, that at the center you are basically alienated from both parties.

Center to Europe (and Australia) is different than center to America. Center is relative to your own culture.

Obama is a far leftist in American terms. But the neocon movement that has hijacked the Republican party is far right on many issues (and far left on govt spending/expansion).

Only a non American could view O as being in the center.

George Bush was center, as was McCain.
O is so far left, he's right.

...or it could just be that Dilbert realizes we're way too conservative when compared with the rest of the First World.  We're closer to the Third World in that respect.
