^^ I watched Rio Bravo last night and the man who shot Liberty Valance the night before. I've been getting a good dose of the duke.

U.S. could spare a carrier group.  Just divert from Persian Gulf to Horn of Africa.

Not plated, stainless steel as its being kept on a boat at sea for months at a time. And yeah I haven't seen many John Wayne movies but they always seem to feature large revolvers so.... Yeah....
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Yes, I'm aware of the values of stainless in firearms but they did not evolve until early mid 1950s.  The Duke was of large stature so go figger.

Following the CW, as development of metal cartridge cases progressed, so did revolver caliber size and barrel length.  Calibers to match rifles and provide single cartridge compatitbility and barrels for distance and accuracy (ref Col Lee Van Cleef movies with detachable stocks as well) as well as a self defense measure - 40gr BP fired from a short barrel or small frame is not the most pleasent experience.

My preference for large frames would have to be the .45 Long, and .357 for dual single cartridge, all blued.  As more a traditionalist, anything other is a fuzz too flashy.
