Now, if someone can tell me why those former McCain aides are airing their dirty laundry in the court of public opinion, rather than privately within the Republican circles - then you might have an answer to something worth asking.

Or, you may just have a bunch of bitter fucktards going for the full retard while they still have some of the spotlight shining on them.

One thing's for certain.  2008 Campaign, Lesson #1 : Pandering to the Fundie-Right loses more votes than it gains.

In the general election it does. During the primaries they are clawing over each other to get their votes.

I mentioned the party thing because you seem pretty loyally Republican.

Let me ask you this...  If Obama started his run for the presidency with "I know foreign policy....  I can see Canada from my house in Michigan", what impression would you have of him?
Actually I'm non-partisan now, former democrat, and past Clinton voter.

I have a tendency to take a devils advocate position sometimes when I feel that the vultures are circling certain pols and try to go against the attacks that I think are unfair, so this makes me seem like I'm defending certain people. It's the case with Palin, I think she got crucified by the media, too much bullshit stuff out there.
Such as the above, I hardly think Palin was making a serious case for her foreign policy experience with the Russia comment -- it seems more like a quip to me -- but you and the rest of the media plays her as a stupid bimbo, so you run with that, even though you don't even know her at all. The Couric interview and her saying "pray to god" too much in you tube clips.. and the court of public (and interwebz) opinion has spoken.

It's the same with Bush...I bet you probably think Bush is stupid, like most of the kids do, right ?

Anyway FTR, I have also defended Obama when I thought shit was being slung at him..

Perhaps: "in 'citeful'" ?  Certainly a disturbing attitude, thankfully he was never in our bunker.

Certainly undeserving to bear a tag of "usmarine" and even worse to add "Carry the Flag" but I'm a Caucasian Viet Nam vet.  What do I know ?

Additionally, for a previous poster:  substitute 'exacerbate' for exasperate

And that's exactly what the Republican party needs to fix, if they want to win again.

"To win the primary, you have to set yourself up to lose the Election" is NOT a good way to run things.

I saw it as usmarine implying that 90%+ of black voters voting for Obama really didn't help the McCain campaign..  In his usual manner of one-liner-guaranteed-to-piss-someone-off.

Often times they (the abused) choose death and commit suicide. Often times they destroy the lives of other while trying to work out their demons.
So, are you guys saying you'd rather be killed than sexually abused?

I mean, obviously, it's an idea we all hope we never have to ponder about ourselves or our loved ones, but seriously....  I'd rather be abused than killed.

You at least have the chance of recovery if you're still alive.  I realize not everyone feels this way, and I understand why some people commit suicide after suffering sexual abuse, but I still can't fathom how abuse is worse than murder.

Something I've already said 15 different ways in this thread.

Also consider:

Stapleton says that during a briefing session someone asked Palin to explain the McCain-Palin stance on an issue and as she was responding “in the middle she said ‘country of Africa’ and somebody instantly wrote it down. And said, ‘Oh my God she thinks it’s a country.’”

But Stapleton insists, “she knows it’s a continent. It was just a human mistake, just like Obama saying 57 states. I don’t think anyone ever doubted that Obama knows there are 50 states.”

Anyone engaging in this exorcism bullshit should not even be considered remotely presidential, and it gives a pretty clear insight on how fucking backwards Alaska really is.  It's a redneck state full of people who reward their politicians for bringing home massive amounts of pork via federal money.  They're the biggest welfare queen of the 50 states, and yet, they still are able to send each of their citizens checks from oil revenue every year.

If they had any dignity, they'd instead use that revenue to fund their own infrastructure and not suck up federal revenue for projects that should be done by the Alaska state government.

Hey, you'll get no argument from me that Kenya is pretty backwards.  I'm not fond of Obama's connections to it either.  The whole Odinga thing was one of the few legitimate complaints that was brought up by conservatives concerning Obama.

Reverend Wright was another.

I came very close to just voting Nader or Ron Paul when the whole Wright thing came to a head.  It wasn't until Obama publicly denounced Wright's extremism that I started supporting him again.

Good points...  but you can't protect them...  or at least you can't protect them all.  In fact, most child abuse is done by immediate family members, not strangers.

Yes he denounced it when it was right to do so politically. I personally am not "outraged" looking at their relationship. Why? Because I think Obama was taking advantage of that church. That was the good political move when Obama was trying to come up as a community organizer. While disturbing I don't necessarily think Obama shares his view. .. oh but he might though..lol

Well, if it was just a matter of politics...   then I'm not so sure if I trust him anymore.

I know all politicians do these sort of things, but it does get rather old after a while.  Between this and our discussion concerning banks, I'm liking that revolution idea more and more.

Perhaps, I'll be siding with ATG's team soon.  I can't say I share his assumptions on the future, but I definitely share some of his rage.
