This video convinced me that she should be at the bottom of the ticket in 2012.

She now has 4 years to get ready to know that Africa is a continent, not a country.

Given the stellar performance we saw a few years ago with a unified government, I think at least Congress will turn around in 2012, if not sooner, when people look at the way things are going and see we've still got a tremendous annual deficit and nothing much has changed.

keep in mind we still have a conservative supreme court, that can strike down anything that comes to them.

the system was designed to be relatively immune to the whims of the public

Well they can still do a lot of damage in the 2yrs they have until Congress is up for re elect. But the Dem's have had Congress for 2yrs and they haven't changed shit.

Reporters were aware that Palin didn't know the countries in NAFTA and that Africa is a continent--and no news organization reported it??? That is journalism malpractice. I don't give a rat's ass if it's off the record.

I think it will be a Dem battle between Hilary and Barrack. It will be nasty.

If the GOP intends on not being ridiculed as Team Jesusland, they should steer clear of Huckabee.

Try running people more like Gordon Smith (a Senator from Oregon that leans in the Libertarian direction) or Rick Perry (the governor of Texas who's moderate).

The Libertarian wing of your party is greatly neglected despite its appeal among moderates and independents.

Huckabee isn't bad because he's Christian...  He's bad because he's a fanatic.  His economic views are ok, but anyone who says they want to alter the Constitution to better fit the Bible is going to scare away moderates.

Romney is a more appealing choice, but the Mormon thing is mostly only an issue to the Religious Right -- although much of the Religious Right supported him during the primaries.  Overall, he's a better choice than Huckabee.

he'll have plenty of time to prepare.

The republican's best bet will be Bobby Jindal, and he's got his own weird religious shit.

Huck is too far out there.

Romney is as crazy and Giuliani, just look at their convention speeches.

Doh...  I didn't think Smith was going to lose that seat.

Well now, I guess that makes the Democratic strength at 57 in the Senate now, unless Begich and Franken can pull through.
