I don't get how people get intimidated. They can't find out who you voted for. Just lie to them if you really need to. Fucked up though, I'm sure it happened on both sides though.

Canadian elections are boring.. no deficit, no illegal immigration problems, no wars (well a tiny one in afghanistan but we aren't going broke because of it), no international hatred toward us..   ya know what i mean.. pretty boring. Back on topic, you think it's ok to have two black supremacist guarding a poll station with a stick claiming to be security guards?   I know they are not white supremacist so for you it's no big deal but you really have to wonder what they are doing there, who asked them to do that and if this thing happened anywhere else.

It's not that this incident changed anything in your elections but just the fact that maybe a little old white lady who was going to vote for McCain didn't vote because she was afraid of those two guys is unaccpetable.

Don't you care about the right to vote of that little old white lady?


And yes, if it was some KKK members doing the same thing wearing their white robe, this would be all over the news this morning and you GS would be the first to cry about it.

wtf? Don't you guys post police at every election station? We do here in Ireland. Is it really that difficult? I would have thought it was bloody necessary.

seriously I enjoy the story afterward though.. Calling the police might be the first step but the people called "these guys".. Then these guys filmed nothing, but then after they stopped filming the guy said a whole lot of stuff. Why film the useless stuff and not get the actual good stuff.

I thought it was interesting that the black panthers would have two guys guarding the polls and I figured that there had to be a reason. a small search later showed that in 2004 there were groups of guys in suits intimidating people at the polls. Looks the black panther security detail was a reaction to what happened in 2004. I guess it would be better to preempt the intimidation that to complain about it after the fact.

The bigger question is about this wienie that was running around to the polls with a camera.

Here is a utube video of him trying to force his way into a poll with a camera!!! its not legal to take a camera into the polls and when he is denied he phones the cops.




I would say that this wiennie was attempting to use his "poll watchers certificate" to intimidate black voters. Looks like the black panthers at the other poll had his number though. There were all sorts of stories about republican't poll watchers challenging only democratic voters, I heard two had their certificates taken away and another fled from a poll before he could be questioned.
