From a major conservative blog:
One of the last things Dean Barnett said to me was that, as best he could tell, Barack Obama is “a good guy and a decent man.” I don’t think he’d mind me telling you that, especially under the circumstances. It’s a testament to his generosity of spirit that even in the heat of a campaign, with every reason to think the worst of his opponent, Dean couldn’t help but give him the benefit of the doubt. That’s Barnett all over, and that’s what made him an indispensable man whom we’ve been forced, horrendously, to dispense with.

I offer that as comfort to those of you who have no faith in The One but who do have faith in, and abiding affection for, DB. My guess is he’d have handled the news tonight with the same magnanimity that distinguished all of his writing. So in that spirit, congratulations to Barry O on a race superbly run and to our country for not having let the wrong reasons deter it from making the wrong choice. I’ll never be a fan, but I swear I’ll never take a nutroots posture either in relishing his failures because it helps my party. Like it or not, he’s my president. As a great man once said, country first.

I have the old TIME articall from 2006 that explains why he could be the next president. I may not agree with him but he is a leader and looks to be a damn good one as well. But only time will tell. I will admit I had some tears myself.

BTW Props to McCain to going back to his decent self, he is better off as a independent.

i'm not looking to debate, i'm just wondering how the fuck Joe and Shawn getting married affects you in any god damned (in fact, God damned) way.

please don't pull the sacred institution bullshit. if i'm not mistaken, about 50% of marriages in the US end up in divorce. yeah, real fucking sacred my ass.

One thing surprised me - why was everyone so eager to call Ohio?

Ohio was the first real hurdle McCain faced. That or Fl.. and since it takes two weeks to figure out what the hell we Floridians did it was left up to Ohio.

Ok... So you don't want to argue with me.  You just want to argue with me.  Your not getting away that easily, but  I'll save you the pain of having to create the thread urself.  The whole thing is stupid really.  Gay couples have equal rights as married couples.  The only difference is the word.

Yes we are on our way. To increasing socialism and probably suppress certain rights, while making the economy worse. I seriously doubt he is going to do anything useful except for the Democratic party's wishes. With the influence of Marxist and communist individuals in his life, I am pretty sure he will put that influence in use as much as possible. He did the election by edging his proposals to fit whatever political view a specific area wanted to be persuaded to vote for him, while proposing for-the-moment promises that sounded good to the people. He did it successfully, so I congratulate him for doing things smartly to get elected into the house like a politician would.

The Democrats own Legislative, Executive, and soon Judicial branches. Probably more than ever.

I have disagreements with McCain he is one of my least favorite of the Republicans, but he is better than Obama on issues. I put the blame on the open primaries and Huckabee being in the race for the choice people had for the Republicans; we could of ended up with at least Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson as a candidate, whom are better than McCain.

Palin could be Presidential nominee in 2012, but there are other Republicans like Bobby Jindal that may rise to that occasion than her.

I can only hope things will be fine, but I seriously doubt with the liberal Democratic party in control.
