I am beyond sick of all the campaign crap... I think both guys are decent people and they believe in their hearts they are going to do the right thing...
My observation is that the govt is very broken and inefficient... and i don't think giving them more money or power will help the citizens...

i'm hoping the strength and character of the the people of the US....re-emerges stronger than ever and we learn from the mistakes we have made...

I lived through Jimmy Carter so i am optimistic we will make it through this...lol

Kmar, that is BS.  Apparentely the guy is a fake, he was playing a role, intending to put up a show on the media while 'interviewing' Obama with hypothetical questions. In that case he's fair game: if he was indeed part of the McCain campaign he could expect to get his life investigated. So bottomline, he's less average then you or me.

On a sidenote, I pitty McCain, he seems to be a decent man, regardless of his past. But it feels like he's riding on a train driven by others, he's clearly not the leader of his own campaign.

I think some people have missed the point. "Joe" was taken as representative of the bulk of working-class America. Thus any arguments about him pertain to how good a representative he is - a pretty pointless debate IMO.

Of course you have figured it out. Wright Ayers and Acorn. You got it all figured out.

Just hope, when McCain has completely the raping of America Bush has started, he'll buy you a house.
And you're a bigot and prejudiced.  The evil old white rich guy huh?  Weak shit that our resident troll uses.... And apparently you too now.

However, I'm not surprised in your mindset.  I'm watching a lot of other Americans choose the same path of ignorance opting to let the government run their lives.  And that's exactly what O"baaa"ma is pitching.  And you call me a sheep.  Bush hasn't raped America you simpleton.  Affordable housing did -and that was the brain child of the Dems.

Just so you won't worry.  I don't need a new house.  I'm perfectly fine in the house I bought responsibly six years ago.  And I also possess the ability to hedge my positions allowing me to pay it off in a weeks notice regardless of short term market activity... So my life is gravy from here out regardless of what O"baaaah"ma tries takes from me.

O"baaaaahaa"ma may give you some of my earned money, it's just too bad he won't use it to buy you a clue.

Obama picked him at random. Why in the hell is any of that relevant to the way Obama answered? .. it's not. He didn't give a speech, he didn't make a commercial, he stood in a ropeline. The Obamatrons are digging up everything they can to distract from Obama's answer. It's pretty stupid of them because they are just keeping the story alive. Again.. who the hell cares? He asked a question.

He might as well have been kermit the frog. I just want some clarification. Was he talking corporate taxes, income taxes, .. llc's? Can you tell me Pierre? That's what is relevant to me. That is what will affect me.

Perception. When I look at that video it looks like Joe (or Sam) is waiting for Obama to get nearer and then asks his questions, knowing that no politician can resist a question and is more then willing to state his whole political program.  If the guy is really fake he just had to wait for him.

Correct. I asked myself the same questions when i saw it first. I've probably assisted more then 200 clients in buying or selling their business, and I noticed that, while a person who is going to sell his business only wants to know the amount he's getting along with the timeframe, all buyers want to know every little detail about the company or business they're going to buy, and they know perfectly the turnover, the net profits, and most ratio's. From my perspective, this guy isn't even interested in knowing the details, but interestingly enough the number he's giving is he one that Obama uses in his proposals.

He brought about a good healthy discuscion. A plant? I think not. Someone who was trying to put Obama on the spot while trying to settle something in his head.. probably. It's just sad to watch respectable dialog between Obama and a voter.. then see everyone try to dig up every piece of garbage on the guy. It's backfiring on Obama.. even though it's not Obama himself going after Joe. It's not what's important to me. Just like Jeremiah Wright isn't important to me.

McCain and Palin just threw the guy under the Shit Talk Express.  Hurting Obama its not.

Just because she didn't want to talk about Joe it doesn't mean she is throwing him under the bus. Notice how the obnoxiously one sided Thinkprogress site slipped that word apparently in there. That's called spin and you ate it up. Not all of us are as easily manipulated.

Lol @ Joe wanting to buy a 250k business and owing $1,200 in back taxes.  He isn't even a registered plumber, and I bet he's a Republican affiliate hired by McCain.  Lol, politics.

Seems the NYTimes (you know, that conservative mouthpiece of a paper) disagrees with you.

11 Sep 03 Edition of NY Times wrote:

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.
The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.
The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

I do find it slightly odd he'd be in a position to buy a $250k business, yet can't afford to pay his taxes. Still, we don't know the whole story and it's perfectly possible there is some kind of legitimate explanation for why he hasn't paid them.

No dreaming allowed!  The American Dream is bullshit mere pipe dream for the masses -to keep them ignorant and at work making money for the oil companies in some way.  We need to take those motivated, greedy bastards money and spread it down to the hard working joe six pack, not plumber.  Because let's face it, there are no plumbers out there making 250K a year.

Well, he is a registered Republican at least, and he doesn't own a licence to be plumber in Ohio.  This was all staged by McCain.  He used Joe the Plumber during the last debate 20 times.  Cmon.

Yes it's a big elaborate scheme. So big in fact that they didn't bother ask him.."hey are you a plumber?".. because they couldn't have picked any other occupation? He was telling Obama what he planned on doing.  Who cares if he is a registered republican? Does that mean he can't ask a question? Or if he does he's got to be involved in some elaborate scheme? ..might as well been Kermit the frog. Why don't we talk about something that means anything? Joe the plumber was just a symbol. What Obama said wasn't even entirely bad. It's just his fans are so intent on catching some nefarious plot that they don't even focus on the issues that all of us face.

Oh c'mon, Dilbert...erm...rammunition...I mean serge.

Don't we already have enough baseless conspiracy theories?

He's a registered Republican. Big deal. There are a lot of registered Republicans whole-heartedly supporting Obama. There are an even larger number still trying to decide if Obama is who they want to vote for (your truly included). What better way to determine that than by attending an Obama rally and asking the dude a question about what concerns you most?

Put the tinfoil hat away, serge. It doesn't suit you.
