listen, you have a 1% chance of winning $5. however, the risk of attempting to win $5 is 99% chance of death.

there are three outcomes:

you live
you live and win $5
you die (you still win $5, but it doesn't really matter because you're dead)

obviously, you won't take the risk because the chance of winning $5 is not worth the risk of dying

he said that if you make the decision to go for the $5 and actually manage to live, that it was the correct choice. i said that making the choice of going for $5 is stupid and illogical regardless of outcomes
