Then, in his late teens he objectively looked at all he had been taught about the world. He's a really clever and and intelligent guy btw, currently doing a PhD in philosophy, very good jazz musician and composer and just a funny bastard to be around (wicked sense of humour).
He's now one of the biggest atheists I know, has an amazing girlfriend and has a great relationship with his parents despite his mother still being a JW.

Was brought up in a very religious setting, church 2x a week, went to private elementary school so on and so forth.
A while back after my parents stopped forcing me to go to church, maybe 14-15, I just started asking questions about a lot.
Funny thing, Christians don't really have a lot of answers. "That's why its called the faith"
As I got further in school I started piecing together how the universe really works and that it probably didn't poof into existence one week.
Although, a lot of the morals I learned throughout my years are still very applicable. Sometimes I take a step back and look at some people and just think, Wow you're literally 2 steps out of the primordial ooze.
I still attend a church, but its a different one than my parents go to. Its just down the street and very small, infact its actually the "Church of Christian Science". The message there is a billion times clearer to me. (Its also very good for networking and I've met countless new people there )
So yea, just take a step back sometimes and contemplate. God isn't going to strike you down because you physically engaged yourself with a girl you like out of wedlock.
