yeah she has her head screwed on and is really mature and sensible... really adult. i dig that. no drama, no turbulence, no worries about random flip-outs or problems arising out of nothing. almost lived in a permanent state of over-exertion with the old one... so much effort and going out the way to make sure things were okay, just pandering to irrational things that i couldn't even predict. exhausting to be honest. my lady now is just easy to talk to, and i dig that. i need that calming influence after such a wild ride. she chills me out and brings me back down to planet earth.

plus the added bonus that she's the cutest and hottest little rocket in the fuckin' woooooorld

The newish girl at work is just the kinda girl I'm after. Sunny personality and there's just something about her that is totally awesome.

She's married though, so I'm just thinking of her as a sign post of what I'm looking for.

Hung out with my ex the other day and again tonight. Nothing more was said about the other night's convo which is good. Funnily enough I feel a bit more relaxed around her, and she does me now too. Maybe we just needed to get it out there so we can both forget about it.

Stop looking, let the girls come to you. I did that for the entire of last year and it got me nowhere. All I did was develop a way of not caring for girls I dated and getting into stupid situations when I'm juggling several ones. It's not fun and just causes more stress cause you're looking for something you seemingly can't find.

From experience I can tell that when you stop looking, the girl appears.

Stop looking, enjoy life and see what happens.

Also, please get as far away as possible from your ex. It's going to end badly, and Uzique is 100% right. Maybe in a year you can talk again, but not now.

exes are over-rated when there's a world of wonderful women out there

it's like eating one flavour of ice-cream all your life because you're afraid to dip into the other varieties

it'll do a lot more for your self-confidence if you go out and meet and get to know new girls, too

just growing into one person all the time as a best-friend confidant and 'soulmate' and whatever other shit becomes borderline neurotic

Thing is, I haven't really had anything to do with her for months now. It's only the past week or so we've talked again. We broke up at easter last year so I think enough water is under the bridge now.

Anyway, I'm not actively trying to spend time with her, she asked to come over to use the net so she could get some temporary government benefit whilst she gets back on her feet from this flood we've got going on at the moment.

And I'm not really looking for a girl. I was just peeved I didn't make better of the recent opportunity, but I think I was just trying not to show her how drunk I was at the time

i left my ex alone for basically 12 months, with 4 months of complete no-contact, no-seeing after i got my ass out of that nightmare house

she came back into my life at the start of the new university year... and guess what?

ripped my fucking heart out again and did the exact same shit. people and relationships don't change. if it don't work, it aint being fixed.

i lost 2 months of academic concentration and general good-times on that shit... adding to an already disgustingly long painful process

I went through that 8 years ago with another girl I was mixed up with. That was a really bad situation for me in a lot of ways, but really good at the same time. Would never go there again, or so I'd like to think.

Nearly did on NYE with someone I used to work with (kinda still do, but we work in different areas now) until her new flatmate turned into a total retard, trying to drive off in her car whilst drunk cause he got all jealous and shit.
