I know some Kalymnians who work in Australia. Better money and conditions they say. They work here and holiday there. None of them have considered emigration though.

The Greeks are like everyone else, the older ones are ok - the first generation migrants, the second and third generations are a bit chav-like.
Its the same all over the world where immigrants don't fully assimilate they form a sub-culture.
Locally the greeks, italians, lebanese etc don't really mix fully and there is a certain amount of tension with the anglo-saxon australians.
Its the same with the Indians and Pakistanis in the UK, and the god-damn poms in Aus.

You'll find that Indians integrate about 9001% more than Pakistani's. It's just that because it's all grouped into one stupid "Asian" category, it fucks it all up. Asia is a big fucking continent.

The Indians certainly integrate much better, and I'm not saying they don't do their best to assimilate, often us Brits just won't let them.
Some groups make little or no effort to integrate however.
Once you get to the second or third generation which has not assimilated its pretty much a lost cause.

Well all the greeks I worked with up here were great blokes. Really great.

The Albanians around here are also pretty cool though. Idk maybe it's just the NT, but up here I've never seen any problems with 'immigrants'. All great. As 'aussie' as the next person tbh. Except the greeks all drink Ouzo and eat goat at greek easter (tastes nice tbh, I was invited).

Though I have heard that down in Perth the young Kalymnian guys are dickheads. I have friends down there and Perth has a pretty large community that originates in Kalymnos.
