I also like Chef-Boy-R-D, microwavable food, peanut butter and jelly. Strange thing is I am still only 150. If I ate healthy food I can probably go into the low 140 again.

the only edible thing on that list is foie gras, but so often it's not prepared well or bad quality. Testament to the ingredient that even in those cases it still tastes alright, but good foie gras with the right food combinations is fantastic. Just not a very ethical food.

the bad stereotypes about US food are the same ones, to a lesser degree, about post-war british food: it's industrial junk.

the actual 'cuisine' rooted in cooking traditions, local ingredients, etc. is probably just about as good as anywhere. cooking isn't that difficult.

Have you ever had Dominican-Puerto Rican blood sausage? I tasted it once when my mom took me on a trip to the "Old Neighborhood" once. I haven't seen it sold anyone else other than that one place. I tasted it and didn't like but my taste has changed with age so I need to try it again.

Cooking can be as simple or complicated as you want to make it. It's the art of cooking no. Something basic like an omelette can be made 100x better if you have a good chef applying the right techniques.

As for the US I do really want to visit the south for its BBQ culture at some point. Everything I've seen looks amazing.
