I've decided she is really only smart at one thing: cheap politics.

I'm a liar and idiot wrote:

“The Associated Press is wrong. The comments are about an association that has been known but hasn’t been talked about and I think its fair to talk about where Barack Obama kicked off his political career, in the guy’s living room. And he of course, having been associated with that group, a known domestic terrorist group, it’s important for Americans to know. Its really important for Americans to start knowing who the real Barack Obama is.”
Besides the fact the quote is misleading and obviously distorting truth, she clearly doesn't believe that people may change a bit. Has Ayers engaged in terrorist activities recently? No, its been forty years. Its not like he's actively trying to disrupt life now. Maybe it was youthful imprudence, like Obama's drug use, McCain's excessive cockiness, academic failure, and infidelity, or her eloping and marrying someone who denied the perpetuity of the United States. By her excessively moronic criteria, Barack Obama is a terrorist and drug addict, McCain is an immoral showoff, and she is a rebel against the United States. No, she is not a someone who sees:

Certainly not if she associates with someone who wants Alaskan independence. She hates America, just like Barack Obama. According, that is, to her "thinking."

Its nice to see how such pathetically specious reasoning can come back to bite her in the face.

Sorry, but I'm really getting sick of Republicans and their pathetic excuses for campaign tactics. Besides, this clearly falls under serious talk; the US election, whether you like it or not, has major implications for the rest of the world.

Dirty and negative campaigning was something Australians only saw first hand during our last Federal Election, and a few state elections.

I completely hate it tbh. It is something we've unfortunately picked up from the previous American elections (probably because sadly, it works).

I'd rather see positive campaigning and tv adverts only descriptive of what you\your party offer from both sides than mud slinging competitions.

Linking Obama to terrorists is a really dirty tactic, and clearly false.

Obama was 8 years old at the time of his "association" with Ayers.

Cute Sarah, real cute.

Washington Post wrote:

Although never convicted of any crime, he told the New York Times in September 2001, "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."

and

Both Obama and Ayers were members of the board of an anti-poverty group, the Woods Fund of Chicago, between 1999 and 2002. In addition, Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's re-election fund to the Illinois State Senate in April 2001, as reported here. They lived within a few blocks of each other in the trendy Hyde Park section of Chicago, and moved in the same liberal-progressive circles.
Pretty sure Obama was older than 8 between 1999 and 2002...

It is a tenuous link, no doubt:

Washington Post wrote:

The only hard facts that have come out so far are the $200 contribution by Ayers to the Obama re-election fund, and their joint membership of the eight-person Woods Fund Board.
Far more questionable would be who the Woods Fund Board gave grants to back in the day.

Threads that complain about political cheap shots often devolve into that themselves.

The negative politics at the last state election here shat me so badly that I did not enrol to vote (see it WOULD have been the special first vote but I really was not intereted in voting for either of the parties)

Well it was an interesting election to follow whilst it lasted. Now with all these "Terrorist" comments and likewise comments from the other side, it's all getting abit lame.

I hope by now most of you Yanks have made up your mind on who you're going to vote for, so that the gutter politics doesn't influence you

American election campaigns make me laugh. The parties never actually concentrate on their own strengths, and introduce them to the public, only plug their opponents weaknesses and take things out of context (to the negative).

If you've been watching the recent "Conferences" of the 3 main parties here (Labour, Conservative, Lib Dems) you'd see that they do the same shit. They even continue to do it in the Commons once everything is done and dusted. It's like that in alot of democratic countries. Especially because of the mass 24 hour media, the electronic age and all that. Where information can be retrieved about something in an instant. It's just that it's worst in the US, by quite a margin.

It's just how shit is, and will be.

Also it's funny how all the Palin fanboys are now crying "enough" but it was never enough when they started all those Obama threads. I'm just saying, it's silly. Like I said before I think the gutter politics is bullshit, but I had to make that point.

but McCain is old and is 90% likely to die as soon as he's elected.

Obama is black and there is a 99.9% he'll get shot. Not to mention his name sounds like a terrorist.

Sarah Palin has officially thrown the first stone and has now given up the right to complain if someone accuses her of being a bad parent (for going on a plane when in the later stages of pregnancy and for having a slut daughter who got knocked up by a redneck out of wedlock), unpatriotic (for being married to a guy who supposedly wants Alaska to split from the United States), corrupt (for having expensive office renovations carried out without council approval) or a pig with lipstick on (because that's obviously what Obama meant with that statement... you know the same statement McCain made but no one read into when Hilary Clinton was still in the race).

Sadly Obama is taking up the gauntlet it would appear: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7654311.stm

I would have preferred Obama to maintain dignity and not enter into such cheap politics, like he had said he intended to.
