Your mother is a hermaphrodite, and has a bigger penis than your dad and you.

Of course they lost it. They went there with an objective and failed to meet it.

what was the objective?
To prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam, which happened anyway.

two years after military forces pulled out.  but Im not really arguing it with you.  I just hate hearing or reading about a military loss when it was far from it.

Simple enough question... do you believe that the US were successful in Vietnam or did they fail in what they were trying to achieve? I ask this because it seems to be a subject that many people like to tip-toe around. Even just last night Sarah Palin said that John McCain (a veteran of the Vietnam war) "knows how to win a war"... was she referring to his service in Vietnam?

Discuss.
Nope we did not win in Vietnam, we lost due to lack of support from the American public.

McCain does know how to win a war, not the Vietnam war but his own personal war in Vietnam. I wondered this myself when she said it, but I drew the conclusion that his honor, integrity, c onstituin bravery and endurance while in captivity won over that of his captures.

Maybe he can win the psychological war of him vs. himself, but that by no means implies that he knows how to win a military war.

Was McCain ever a community organiser? If not, then he does not have the same experience Obama has.

One fighter pilot has almost no influence on the outcome of a war.

Militarily: Clear US victory in nearly every major battle...then, we left.
Politically: Mostly a failure.  South Vietnam was not protected, and was overrun by communist forces.  We did limit some of Russia's desire to keep fighting proxy wars, but not a whole lot.

Fighting a just war and winning an ideological battle is not easy. War is comprised of both military action and political end, ergo the US lost. They could not impose their will on the Vietnamese. Simple as that. Wouldn't have mattered how many battles they won or tonnes of napalm they dropped.

Yes the US won the Vietnam war.

The South Vietnameese populace were totally crushed as were the surrounding countries.

Why go to the US when you can have a potshot at people from the US on your own doorstep? 4000+ and counting. And if you really think the Iraq war is preventing someone from bombing a random location within the US then you have logic and reasoning issues.
This.

Besides... the Iraqis don't even fight, they just plant bombs and wait for jeeps to ride over them, as you should know.
