One not yet discussed is a US Army project in development. As seen on TV ( Futureweapons), it uses focused ultra high frequencies that will figuratively burn yer face off. Designed for non lethal crowd control (coming soon to a riot in your 'hood) it has an effective range of several hundred yards (distance is classified but it should be considered greater than your not so friendly Amahad Abdul Abdullah AQ AK47ist's effective range) and the ability to specifically target the chief goat mucker in charge. One of the intended deployments is international shipping.
