Biden to Obama: Hands off my guns

Sen. Barack Obama better not mess with his running mate Joe Biden's guns...or else.

In an out-of-nowhere attempt to re-assure a southwestern Virginia labor crowd about gun owners' rights, Biden -- who regularly scores "F" ratings from the National Rifle Association -- warned Obama that if "he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem."

"I guarantee you Barack Obama ain't taking my shotguns, so don't buy that malarkey," Biden said Saturday at the United Mine Workers of America's annual fish fry in Castlewood, Virginia. "Don't buy that malarkey. They're going to start peddling that to you."

Biden told the crowd that he himself is a gun owner. "I got two," Biden said, "if he tries to fool with my Beretta, he's got a problem. I like that little over and under, you know? I'm not bad with it. So give me a break. Give me a break."
I Know the Dems can be a bit self destructive when it comes to campaigning. But this is getting to be ridiculous.

Biden on Obama's approved attack ad. “I thought that was terrible”

On clean coal, Biden takes bold stand against... Obama’s position?

Outsourcing those green jobs to China?

Obama’s Department of Energy will enter into public private partnerships to develop five “first-of-a-kind” commercial scale coal-fired plants with clean carbon capture and sequestration technology.

In coal mining country:“Senator Obama’s a friend of coal.” Biden: ‘It’s Nice To Be Back In Coal Country’

But just two days later in Ohio, Senator Biden said he wants “no coal plants here in America” and that he and Senator Obama are “not supporting clean coal."

Wtf? How can these two be so far off? They are clearly out of synch. Maybe Hillary might have been a better pick.

I don't know whats going on in his head. I seriously doubt Hillary would have been making these mistakes. She was at least composed and presidential.

Basically he was saying, for anyone wanting to actually pay attention, that Obama wasn't about to cede to right-wing paranoia and show up with black helicopters to take anyone's guns.

As for the ad thing, Biden was a bit blind-sided and then taken out of context.  It happens.  He went on to say:

Biden wrote:

"As I said right then, I knew there was nothing intentionally personal in the criticism of Senator McCain's views which look backwards not forwards and are out of touch with the new economic challenges we face today.

"Having now reviewed the ad, it is even more clear to me that given the disgraceful tenor of Senator McCain's ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize."
The coal thing may have been a fuck-up, but I think its probably more of the same out-of-context shit.  Take a statement out of context and then try to smear him with it.  Same tactics they used on Kerry and Gore repeatedly, and they worked because most wing-dingers and "low information voters" only read the top sound bite.  So why won't it work on Biden?  Ahh, I know, Biden actually has a pair...

Patiently waiting on the VP debate - I can't wait to see how the right-wing spins the ass-raping that thoroughly corrupt sack of shit Palin will get regardless of how they stack the deck in her favor with the easier debate rules.  Should become a classic.

How is the coal thing "taken out of context"? Chick asks him a question and he answers it. And his answer is at complete odds with Obama's position on coal. What broader context could possibly change that?

Give a nice soundbite, it still gets taken out of context...damned if you don't, damned if you do.  You give a short snappy clear statement, they dig in further text for something to pull apart.  You give a long explanation, they take the opening statement and provide no context.  Oh well.

Anyways, apparently the video bite didn't capture his entire stance, just the initial gut reaction - basically he meant just to say "coal" when the person asked him about "clean coal".  The media has given a pass to much bigger gaffes before...even FoxNews is clearing the air on this one so the McCain campaign stops making an ass out of themselves over it and can have more free resources to make asses out of themselves with other crap.

FoxNews wrote:

Biden’s claim that “we’re not supporting clean coal,” in response to the question, just meant that he’s not supporting it over other, cleaner alternatives. And as for that no more coal plants, Wade insists that Biden meant no more dirty plants — but that Biden favors building 5 clean coal plants in the US with carbon capture and sequestration technology.

I'm willing to write off the "Obama can't take my guns" and our approved ad "was terrible" remarks as just and incredibly stupid way to get his point across.
It is fun to watch the Ombamicans dance though.

The clean coal remark was an inescapable fuck up. Just two days before saying that coal was killing her Biden was in Virginia claiming that Obama was a friend to coal and that it was good to be in coal mining country. There is no out of context view. You saw the entire exchange. He should have stopped after giving his green credentials. He also needs to learn a thing or two about personal space. Sheesh, that was kinda creepy.

Obama may not take Biden's shotgun, but he will support Biden's plans to make millions of semi-auto rifles illegal (aka another AWB).  Obama also supported a ban on ALL semi-autos in the past...I don't know if Biden's shotgun would qualify, but all but one of the firearms I compete with would...so no upgrades for me...

I don't buy Biden's malarkey.  HE AUTHORED THE ORIGINAL AWB (which got shot down, until Feinstein rewrote it).

The man says what he wants to say.  Big whoop.

The big problem with the administration we have now is that all of the people don't say what they want to.... they get hired for agreeing with the people at the top.

Obama and Biden even talked about this in an interview I saw on TV.  It's not quite as big as you think Kmarion.  What do you want, Biden to lie/change his position just to agree with the person at the top of the ticket?

Of course lots of people would view this negatively... but imo healthy disagreement is a good thing.

The coal stuff.... ya he's out of synch.  Can't defend that.

You'll be happy to know I've forgiven him on all but the coal issue..lol.

My real point here is that I can't imagine Hillary making these mistakes. What was her worst gaffe? Sniper fire?..lol. She was at least consistent with her policy. Tbh a Hillary/Obama ticket (with Hillary up top) would have been enticing to me. Neither ticket has offered me anything to get excited about. Maybe that will change Friday night (lulz).

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened,'" Barack Obama's running mate recently told the "CBS Evening News."

erm.....

Except, Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929. There also was no television at the time; TV wasn't introduced to the public until a decade later, at the 1939 World's Fair.

I hate to break it to you, but this phony discord is all part of my Sigs mentioned parties plot.

What do we have in our two parties?
Fools who minspire nothing but fear.

This is all part of the Grand Design.

Trust me, in four years we shall not be calling for change, we shall be looking for a savior to fill the bellies of our starving children, tha way things are going.

The main goal of the Illuminati is to initiate change via the demand of the public.

Through their minions, the main two parties in the American Electorate, they shall inspire such fear and discontent that we shall all be demanding radical change that shall usher in a plan of their design; one of indentured servitude with those yet unborn owing as mush as a man in the 1900's earned in a lifetime.

We are fucked unless we find the intestinal fortitude to bear arms and mount the heads of the offenders on pike poles lining Pennsylvania Avenue.

See what drinking does?
It makes you speak your mind.

The New World Order shall be ushered in not with a bang, but a whimper.
