Well i work in a video store so i have rented every war movie in the store but this is Just my opinion

Band of Brothers (is awesome and rapes face over most war movies/series)

Apocalypse Now (epic but good)

The Odd Angry Shot (good film because it looks at the men in the Vietnam war not just things blowing up... although its an Australian movie based on the Aussie SAS so u might not like it)

Gallipoli (another australian one, terrible special effects but i still love it)

Personally i dont mind Saving Private Ryan, We Were Soldiers Type movies.... but only for abit of entertainment. to hollywood in many parts imo.

And of Course schindler's list

Saving Private Ryan and Enemy at the gates were very good films, this is from someone who isn't American.
Enemy at the Gates is a popcorn flick.  Mentioning it in the same sentence as SVP is a sin tbh.
I liked the Russian aspect of it. Only seen 2 films centred around Russian soldiers and they were both great.

Oh yeah I forgot about Enemy at the Gates.

And I just remembered a futuristic war movie, called Soldier. It has Kurt Russell in it
