Hi guys, I recently re-formatted my PC and had to re-install everything back onto it. Obviously this included my copy of BF2. Now, when I do the Battlecommo setup, the program doesn't capture any sound from my mic where X-Fire and Sound recorder etc have no problem and then when I choose to save or cancel the voice setup crashes.

Further to my problems, the In-Game sound is off the charts! I can hear EVERYTHING. I mean everything: My friend and I were playing Jalalabad the other night and while I was at the USMC uncaps I could hear him placing C4 at the Mosque, right down to the little beep when he detonated it. True, when playing as a sniper, I can use this to my advantage as I can hear where just about everyone is coming from, but when I fight close combat I don't have a clue whats going on since I can hear bullets ricocheting of walls half the map away which sounds like they were shots fired at me.

I have contacted EA and they tell me to uninstall and re-install the game. Done that many times now. I know my CD-Key off by heart now. Anyway, nothing that EA says to do has worked. They reckon it's something wrong with my system, and it may be, but I never had these issues before.

Can anyone help?

Wow, I've never heard of this before..."SOUNDCARD HAX?"

Maybe try updating your sound card drivers?  What card/on-board chip are you using?

lol, I figured it all out. It turned out to be a something as simple as disabling the front speaker and mic jacks. Everything works as it should now.
