my cpu failed big time.  i wasn't even getting a fps reading during the cpu tests!!!!!   opteron 144 oc'd to 2.5 ftl i guess!!!!!

Really? The only faster I have seen (Personally) is from someone who had twice the gpus and twice the cores. When I get my new chipset it should be better.

I get nearly that. Yet on paper your system destroys mine.



10142 - Wahey past the 10K mark! (not bad from 7K stock)

I'll be back with better scores soon, my GPU isn't clocked very high at the moment (I only put it up when benching - games tend not to need it, I only run them in 1680x1050)

It destroys it up until you oc your 6300 to 3.4.

I'm shocked you can't get more out of your CPU. It is about 6x the price (UK anyway).

It's the chipset. If I had the 680i like yours it would.

What settings are you running your CPU at?

I'm running a 6300, it can do much better. Overclock it.

I've run into lots of weird things like that. The Nvidia monitoring tool lies! It lies sooooo much. It's not unusual, believe CPU-Z not 3dmark.

Still, that's a slight CPU improvement. Maybe with a 680i you can try for some high FSB settings. I reckon you'll get much better scores from something like 400x9 than from that.

Would having my 7600GT OC'ed to 635MHz core and 1.6GHz clock hurt the card?

It runs at ~55 Celcius under load. (or so says the nVidia temperature gauge.)

Thats pretty warm.

It ran at 55 celcius stock too, I should have added :p
