I seem to recall reading somewhere that Crossfire will support 4 cards far easier than nVidia's SLI solution - summat to do with the way it's a hardware solution rather than partially software...

I shall see if I can find where I read that again and post details if I can...

ATi have already proven that have more pixel pipelines doesn't necessarily result in a faster card. The X1800 XT has 8 less pipes than the 7800 GTX and yet beats it most tests.

I guess it's similar to Intel vs AMD, where more clock speed does not equal better performance.
