well, im more into gothic metal these days (and electronic music btw), but the true is that metallica hasnt done anything remotely close to metal the last 20 years.They liked the commercial success they did with the black album and stayed that way, a more masses-friendly sound.....Jenspm wrote:

The album hasn't impressed me at all; downloaded it and listened through once and found nothing that wasn't boring or generic.
I just can't take this band seriously anymore. They whined and sued the Internet's music community into the ground and then continue on to release 3-4 utterly mainstream and 'sellout' albums, until they come full circle again and end up using the Internet (and the same communities) to promote and peddle their latest package of recycled riffs and banal "Rock #1" drumming.
Either I've moved on from the point where image-based angsty 'Paint by numbers' metal is boring for me, or this band are now a collective of 40-something daddy-rockers. Either way, it's a lose/lose situation.
