AT medium to close range a PKM will rip apart nearly anyone who gets in front of it. At long distance you can kill people but it takes about 70 rounds or so if you're aiming. So if they increase the accuracy too much on it then it'll be too good.

In fact the only thing that limits the PKM is accuracy. It has plenty of stopping power since each shot does about 45 damage, it has a high rate of fire, and ammo isn't a problem since the support player as infinite ammo. Heck it can even shoot through some fences and other things other guns can shoot through.

WHat balances the gun though is that it has horrible accuracy when standing up or crouching. Once you go prone though it has a very respectable accuracy and when aiming while prone you can get some longer range hits then you would think.

In the end the fact that you have to go prone to hit the broad side of a barn is it's weakness that many people have touble getting around it seems. I think, personally, that this new accuracy improvement is unneeded and may do more harm then good to the weapon, since the low accuracy of the support guns it's more then rectified by the amount of lead they can send into the enemy
That is the best post yet on the support class.

I use support a fair amount and that is exactly what i've noticed with the PKM, granted i'd like to be able to kill people standing up like in the opening movie but hey, going prone has it's major benefits so i don't complain

the only thing i could complain about is sometimes my finger hits the X key and i freak out that i'm not going prone and end up dying... lol, but that happens rarely so i'm not bothered by it

Not at all The mounted .50 or .51 HMG has a couple tons of Steel Vehicle holding it steady in a Mount.
It is not skitering around in the dirt or Pavment with a crappy little Bi pod.
If any thing they should be upgraded.

These things cut down trees, bust brick buildings to pieces, punch holes the sizle of cantelopes in cinder blocks..... Dont get me started.

LaidbackNinja- Obviously you haven't played the support kit enough to give a good educated opinion of it. I have no problem owning as support and, in fact, it's my favorite kit. The PKM, although slow, packs a major punch and damages vehicles as well as infantry, making it pretty useful. Suppresive fire has never really shown to be effective in this game, however, which is sad because that's always been the purpose of a LMG.
The kit itself is meant to engage the enemy at close to mid range. A good support soldier knows never to try to engage at long range, unless you want to take your chances with the pistol. Alot of people don't realize either is that at close to point blank range, you don't have to zoom in to kill someone, BUT no matter what, you ALWAYS have to go prone. The only time I run and shoot is when I engage a prone enemy at point blank range. Prone to shoot is one of the things that keeps this class balanced. I think some accuracy improvement will benefit the kit, but if they overdo it, the support kit will become overpowered, which of course, starts the bitching again.
EA/DICE, if you're reading this, know that I don't mind if you make support more accurate, just PLEASE don't overdo it.
