I love Long Island. You've obviously never been here. Besides the taxes, it's beautiful. So until you know what you're talking about - put a sock in it before I put my cock in it.
I lived on Long Island for 2 years while I was attending a college there ... Extremely boring, IMO. The cops are dicks in my experience. People that come from LI are a little strange, too. I love people who have multimillion dollar homes and 2-3 BMW/Mercedes/Porches/whatever telling me their family isn't well off (I've met a few people in that situation tell me that). The weather is terrible, it always seems colder than it actually is until summertime when it seems hotter than it actually is. And you have King Kullen.
I've lived here my whole life, and there's plenty of things to do here. The cops are also excellent...only had one problem with them (my brother taking a sharp turn going to Eisenhower Park in Uniondale and ending up on two wheels somehow) and they let him off with a warning. Suffolk cops are the highest paid in the country for a reason.
The weather's fine...the only thing I don't like is the recent lack of snow.
I know what you mean about the people with multi-million dollar homes bitching that they're poor and claiming poverty, however...my father's one of them.
What college did you go to? Stony Brook?
Mhm, transferred out to go back to the city.
Long Island just seems like a place where if you grow up there you'll never leave. You may go somewhere else for college but you're gonna probably live out your whole life knowing nothing but LI and I've seen it in so many people. I just don't really care for such places. The whole live in the suburbs, nice family, no worries life scares me.
Sad thing is when I'm older and have a family I'll probably end up there anyway.
But I'm in China right now so all's good.
