That's not true. Most of PS3 games have dedicated servers supported by Sony or the game developers such as Insomnia, including Resistance Fall of Man. Even UT 3 on PS3 and Battlefield Bad Company supports dedicated servers.

And hence this game is PS3 exclusive, it's most likely they will support dedicated servers.

Right, like EA ran BF2 servers. It's not unprecedented for the dev/publisher to run servers. What is a dedicated server for a PS3 though, a computer program or a PS3 running 24/7?

Can you clarify on what "that" is in "that's not true?"

r'Eeee is quite right tbh. If the concept failed they would have dropped it during prototyping, clearly it was fun to play and thus they went with the idea and have started developing a game around it.
Please tell me your not serious.  That awful Aquaman game released, and its easily regarded as pure crap, but the developer still put it out.  The Rig racing game also came out and thats easily one of the worst games to come out.  then there E.T for the Atari.  Was a dreadful game, yet they still continued with it and produced it.

You cant use that logic to say a game is good.  Only time will tell.

Where did I say it was good? Please point that out.

Clearly THEY did find the gameplay fun. E.T I highly doubt was ever prototyped. Aquaman Ive never even heard of, I assume its another of those film/comic deals, in which case it was coming out anyway and Big Rig was made by some lone guy. How do any of them relate to a producer of AAA titles?

Srsly pricks stop finding reasons for me to buy a PS3. I don't have the money to spare.

Oh, so they are PS3s. Well, if Sony's going to foot the bill for it I guess that works, but it takes out the vast majority of end users and even server rentals, though perhaps I overestimate the potential and how seriously it would be taken with more availability. Point being I don't see even Sony offering server rentals for current games.

You agreed with someone who said it would "work well."

It has the potential to be good, but that's going to be harder to pull off then a clusterfuck.

Can someone explain to me why they would do that? Seems pretty stupid to me, why not just use normal servers?

Coz PS3 games are 1337, therefore they require 1337 servers, cheers.

Bad answer.

It's because for whatever reason the programmers haven't made them capable of that. As far as I've looked I can't find a definitive answer for why. Marketing says they can, the devs say they can't, so I assume there's some mix of it being possible but just not implemented yet.
