Watched gladiator for the 100000th time. Still solid 9/10
I didn't really hate the book of Eli. I like those apocalyptic movies like the road and RE:extinction. The one thing that did bother me was the headset. If a movie uses branded products with logo's, i don't mind. In real life everything has logo's and brands all over it as well. If someone in a movie drinks Coca-Cola en not a blank red can, I'm oke with it because if they don't over do it it's actually more realistic than a brandless can. But the way the did the IN-YOU-FACE advertising with the dre beats headset was just ridiciolous.
They even advertised a Motorola megaphone ffs.
A megaphone!
A megaphone!
Yeah. It had potential. Now i would give it a 6/10 (and I'm being generous there) but it could be a 7/10 without all the advertising bullshit. And if they would clean up the sotry a bit and not make it about HURR DURR the bible is super powerful it could even be an 8/10. I know that bible might have a powerful effect on ignorant people that don;t even know how to read, but to say that it would have the same effect as when it first appeared in the world and that everyone would follow every order the one that discovered it said? No. But if they would've changed the story for the better, but kept in the advertising it would still be a 6.5/10 at best because it annoyed me so much. It advertised dre beats almost as much as any of todays music video's.
I watched it not long ago. I liked it, some nice fight stunts. Chinese are very original when it comes to fightsKmar wrote:

Thanks, tazz.
The King´s Speech - 9/10
What a fantastic movie! Great acting, beautiful camerawork.
Loved every minute of it, and I´m not even British. Can´t wait until it comes to cinemas in Austria.

Giving Gladiator a 7/10.
Haven't watched it recently, but I thought it was completely unfair to Commodus, who was absolutely not a coward. Willing to forgive that for the otherwise good screenplay.

The film wasn't exactly a biopic, it's not like that Maximus actually existed. Also I thought it's agreed that commodus was basically the start of the fall of the Roman empire?
The Fifth Element
8/10
damn close to a 9/10 but the -"tell her, tell her", "tell me, tell me", "I love you Leeloo"- was kinda derp
This is actually the first time I've watched the whole movie :S

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Countdown to Zero: 8.7/10
Quite interesting for the most part although there were a few lulls in the "action." Also very informative... I'm a changed man.

Red Cliff - long/10
Nope, Germany and Austria take FOREVER to release the films. I think Tron started about 2 weeks ago.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

As for the Kings Speech, Winston_Churchill, you did not exaggerate in your recommendation. I was afraid, me looking forward to it so much would result in disappointment, but it did not.
And anoying.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Couldn't take much of the superpowers shit for long. I think I watched halfway and stopped.
I miss'em ..8 months ago Flaming_Maniac wrote:
I didn't really like House of Flying Daggers myself. Red Cliff is like watching someone play Dynasty Warriors, for good or bad.
Ip Man and Ip Man 2, those are good movies.
but I really liked HOFD

The Mechanic. 7/10. Pretty generic action movie.
I watched Freedom Writers. I thought it was fucking excellent. Some really moving parts.

Idk .. pretty much everything I have read about him also portrays him as demented and cowardly. That includes first hand accounts and writings.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Watched the machinist for the first time last night, missed the first 20 minutes so couldn't tell if it was being deliberately confusing or i'd missed a fairly vital plot point, still the rest of it was pretty good and i'd like to see the whole thing
about 7/10 (8 or 9 if I see the start maybe).
e: christian bale was still awesome in it though
