Was debating whether to watch this or Big Daddy, chose the latter due to being badly hung over. 6/10

That film was so gay. And I don't just mean the added gay subplot which was pretty gay.

Whole movie sucked compared to the original.

I don't think I even finished watching the remake tbh it was that bad.

Micheal caine always adds a certain something to a film, but the script just seemed like a load of contrived "wit" and "charm". Didn't flow at all. I think I zoned out for 5 mins without realizing...

Harry Potter 5, I think Yawn/10 (Only watched it in case I have to see Harry Potter 6)

Seemed like a collection of cribs from everything from Star Wars to Superman through Lord of the Rings with a bucket of pre-teenage angst thrown in.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 7/10.  I actually ended up seeing it twice in one day ( I have a good excuse.  I'm not that big of a Harry Potter fan...) and the I enjoyed the movie more when I viewed it the second time.  In the beginning, there were too many short scenes that faded out and throughout the rest of the movie, there were some slow parts, especially when Harry, Ron, and Hermoine were living in the tent.  They also didn't follow the book as much as I thought they would (more than the other movies...), but it was a huge improvement over that shitty 6th movie.  Overall, I'm hoping part deux will only be better.

Harry Potter 7a - 7/10

A bit easier to follow than HP6, but even though it's all the previous films' faults for skipping over critical information that 7a and 7b will have to catch up on, I can't help but knock off a point for it being SO LONG (that's including the upcoming part 2).

Still, points for trying to keep up, so I guess I have to give it an 8 or 9 instead, if I only compare it to the rest of the series.

<3 HP.  It was actually really, really good.  Some parts were hilarious and innuendos and awkwardness all over.  But... Dobbyyyyyyyyyy :'(
I agree.

I think they did a much better job of summarizing the books than some of the previous movies that left important parts out.
Yeah, I kinda wish they had done 10 movies over the 7 books or something.  They're worth spending the time on
I don't think that would've been doable, unless you wanted to give Harry Potter gray hairs or something. But yeah, the longest book was made into the shortest movie at one point. What's up with that, and what's up with SKIPPING the bloody battle at the castle at the end of #6?

And by the last Harry Potter movie, Dan Radcliffe would've been as craggly as Clint Eastwood.

Instead, they could've stopped stressing out about a few minutes here and there and not worried about a film being 2:30 or some such runtime. Saving twenty minutes isn't worth it if you leave people clueless by the end of the film.

Nah, they probably could've sped it along if they really wanted to.  They take off tons of time while the films are in post production.  If were so inclined they most likely could've made 10 movies in under the time it took them to make 8.

And yeah, I was really pissed they skipped the final battle in 6 AND Dumbledore's funeral.  I thought for sure that would be in 7 since they skipped it but it wasnt... 6 was definitely a huge screwup.

But my biggest problem with the HP movie series is the new Dumbledore.  The old one (who died after 2 I think) was exactly what Dumbledore should be, a commanding presence thats also calm and almost grandfather-like.  The new Dumbledore is angry 24/7 and too aggressive, I couldnt stand it when he was on the screen.

Richard Harris was definitely a better Dumbledore.

Richard Harris was a great Dumbledore, but I also like Michael Gambon's, and thought his intensity was more fitting for the role of spymaster. If you read the books at all, you'd know that as the stories progressed, Dumbledore was more or less distancing himself from Potter, and was adopting a more aggressive pose.

Other 'errors' are the result of hasty editing, such as his crippled hand in #6, which is bluntly introduced and missed by 99% of the audience. The movies are definitely cut for people who have read the book to keep up with. After the third, non-readers started getting lost.

Really clever film, with a lot of similarities to Fight Club, both in the plot and the style of filming. Bales acting is superb, he lost so much weight for this role, his body is disgustingly thin, that's dedication for you.

HEY! Everything that is seen on a big screen or on TV is realistic. TV is God. Hollywood is priest. Obey. Bow down. Worship.
