2) Not enough information in the post (cpu type, crash type, ANY details at all.)

I've amended error #1, you have to fix #2

Hi XDR guy

got my Vet Knife Badge on you server tonight !!!!

Possible causes are:
1) Overheating video card
2) Physical Error on your hard disk
3) Memory errors
4) Windows problem
5) Spyware / Virus hijacking your internet connection
6) ISP problem
7) Router Modem problem
8) Server reset (not your fault...)
9) BF2 Install hasn't completed properly
10) BF2 Patching hasn't completed properly
11) Someone else is using your CD Key ????
12) You have a pirate copy of BF2 maybe  :^ )
13) Other

Although if you can play other 3d games, online, without issues, then it's probably just BF2.
Happens to me occasionally - I restart my PC and it's OK.

Speak to XDR HollowPoint who works in the same IT department as me and ask him for
some tips for investigating the above causes...

Cheers

if its overheating related, this may be of no help.
but if its game/patch related I thought Id share this.
I got a new hard drive last week and rather than do the ghost deal I elected to reinstall everything from scratch.to make a long story short, the game kept crashing while loading the map,I was so frustrated to say the least.what Id done was installed the game and all previous patches thinking that was what to do...not !
after much research through many bf2 forums I found an aussie forum that said install the game and just the latest 1.12 patch.I thought that couldnt possibly work but I was so desperate for battle that I was willing to try anything...it worked !!
and Ive been playing crash/error free since
thanks to the aussies Im back in battle, for now !
as the new patch is out feb 8th and I wonder if Ill be able to just apply it and get back to the fight !!
hope so...

If you have a dual processor. Make sure the settings only allow BF2 to use one of them. Attempting to use both will cause random crashes in BF2. This esspecially goes out to everyone with the Athlon 64 Dual Cores.

So basically it is one of the 3 things:

- A problem with your computer.
- A problem with BF2.
- Some other problem.
