thought so, its like the mr2, mid engine performance at a front engined price. good fun.
it isn't really. my wife's yellow (makes it faster) 500 is a 1.4 'Lounge' lol, it is a little fun quick car and front engined

I'm sure there is a reason, but can anyone tell me why Ford haven't tried exporting Australian designed cars overseas? Here we have Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV), which are similar to cars such as the Holden VXR8. I'm sure they could be reasonably popular (maybe in the US? I can't imagine they would be very popular in Europe).
some FPVs
FPV F6, 415hp Turbo 6 Cylinder.
FPV GT, 450hp Supercharged 8 Cylinder.
(both come in a "E" Luxury model as well)

Looks like a standard Holden SS to me. They are very common here.Computer_Guy wrote:

looking at them i'm glad they don't
the Monaro seemed popular over here in England but not many were built for us, same for the VXR8... the new VXR8 is £50,000. the good thing about the Monaro & VXR8 was they were fun and insane but for not a lot of money, but not any more unless you buy an earlier Monaro

They still aren't that expensive. For a German made car with similar performance you will pay $70,000-$90,000 more here.Toilet Sex wrote:

That f6 is sexy. Those would sell well IMO. I also wonder why ford Europe doesn't export the rs models. Really aggrivating
that's what i'm saying, it's now too close to audi RS/bmw M/merc AMG moneyLittle BaBy JESUS wrote:

How is it close? An F6 has roughly the same power and 0-100 time as a BMW M3. Here a F6 costs $65,000 new, a BMW M3 costs $155,000 new.Toilet Sex wrote:

That is a fair difference in my mind. (Not trying to say the F6 is better than a M3 or anything like that, just that the price difference is substaintial)

i think you've misunderstood what i mean. i'm talking about in England without silly taxes lol and also the recently released VXR8 not the F6Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

new VXR8: £50,000
new M3: £53,000
back when you could pick up a VXR8 for around £25,000 compared to the M3 50k price it made sense, not any more when the new VXR8 is roughly the same price. if the F6 were to be successful, it would need to be like the Monaro rather than the most recent VXR8, significantly cheaper but with the performance.

Jesus Christ, you weren't kidding. I looked the M3 prices and whatnot. m8
lol ^
china's just as bad, $500,000 for an old 2004 Gallardo i think

saw a VW touareg with cayenne wheels
i haven't looked at the chinese used supercar market but i heard the guy who smashed his up paid $500k for it and it was an old model

Wow ok I didn't realise the difference over there, I was just reffering to prices here.
In Australia FPV's and VXR8s etc are still a good option considering the price difference I outlined before. (For reference the VXR8 Equivilent costs $80,000 here so still half of what the M3 costs)
These cars are loud, silly, brash and some might call them vulgar, but they are tonnes of fun and not a huge outlay of money.
As you said, for them to be competitive anywhere else they need to be about the same price difference as they are here (half an M3).

sorry, i thought i mentioned England earlier on
but yeah that's why they're so popular there. i had a Monaro and loved it, but i wouldn't have a VXR8 over a similar priced M3... when my Vauxhall (yeah vauxhall sell them here lol) dealer told me they'd be £49,900 i thought he was joking
nevermind
