I just really REALLY hate bandwagon and fair-weather fans. Especially when they flood our stadium and say 'omg I've loved the Sox for like, EVAR!' When they have lived in fuckin Tacoma their whole life and nobody in their family has even seen the east coast.

On the bright side, he's not really stopping the Angels from going out and spending more money if they really want to. Besides Greinke (who might re-sign), there's really no one on the market this winter that will help out much more than what you have already. I wouldn't pay Josh Hamilton.

id sort that stat list by WAR, not ERA. I like WAR because its a stat that doesn't exist in a vacuum like ERA.

FIP is better than ERA in my opinion, but I still like WAR because while FIP is just a sort of advanced stat that is supposed to correct for variables in fielding, WAR actually compares against an average. FIP will still only tell the story of that specific pitcher (or team), while WAR tells the story across the whole league. If that makes sense.

Well, WAR for bullpens is a bit different. It has more to do with managers use of the relievers available. If two teams have equal FIPs but different WARs, the team with the better WAR is using its best relievers more often. Or the other team has shitty starting pitching which means more crappy middle relievers see action.

Oh, WAR also counts the winning percentage of the pitchers, so pitchers on bad teams will have a hard time racking up positive WAR.
