Yeah. Austin romine. Guys a beast
Because Pineda's potential is at or very close to Montero's potential in their respective positions. I have little doubt Montero is going to be an all-star or at least a phenomenal player, but he was never going to make it with his defense in Girardi's system. Plus, we also have another C in the system in Gary Sanchez who is another power hitter looking to make it big (although another one with "eh" defense), as well as Romine as Ken mentioned. I'm fine with Martin in that position batting 8th, and I'm fine with Montero being traded for a phenomenal return. Now all we need is a DH, and there's rumors Cashman is going after Mark Trumbo, who the Angels have been looking to trade since Pujols is now there.Roc18 wrote:

WHY THE FUCK WOULD WE TRADE JESUS MONTERO.
Also heard this is Rivera's last year which isn't surprising, but people have also heard rumors of D-Rob going in a deal. I say hell no to that. He was virtually unhittable last year and would be a fantastic replacement for Rivera since I don't trust Soriano yet and Joba's very up and down.
Read that this morning. Wonder if Ro Washington was with him, just in the alley out back smoking rock

eh, between him and Damon, I'll take him.
If our DH spot is the weakest position on the whole team... fuck man, I'll take it

Cashman gets an A+++++ for this offseason.

And the average age of their starting lineup is around 33.Poseidon wrote:

so? if they're producing, I don't care how old they are. The only "old" players on the roster are A-Rod and Jeter... A-Rod based on talent alone should have a rebound year if he's healthy and Jeter had a pretty damn good year last year.
They could all be 40 for all I care... as long as they stay healthy and produce like they did last year, I'm fine with it.

Well, age means they're in decline. They're also more likely to get injured.Poseidon wrote:

Tex, Granderson, Gardner, Martin and Cano are all in their primes and have been consistently healthy. A-Rod is seemingly healthy and Jeter's fine. I don't see the problem with age on the roster.Jay wrote:

Andy Pettitte coming back to the Yankees Interesting, for sure... could make for a rotation like this:
Sabathia
Kuroda
Nova
Pettitte
Pineda
Hasn't really seemed like they're completely confident in Pineda yet.
BP
Hughes
Garcia
Logan
Chamberlain
Robertson
Soriano
Rivera
Crazy depth, that's for sure.

Some old lady is already waiting at the stadium. She's a season ticket holder since like 1966. She should know as long as you have a ticket you're gaurenteed entrance. Weirdos

M's are putting up more offense than we saw through the all-star break last year.
About that pitching... yeah...pirana6 wrote:

was at the Halos game yesterday. Pretty dismal showing. Shouldn't be allowing 7 runs against the Royals.
Royals have one of the top offenses in baseball
